He was joined on t he po dium by Farnswo rt h (3-2) a nd Miles Daniele (4-3). Kyle Hogan had a good afte rn o on in t he 125c c ran ks. Right be hind him, o n a ne w YZ250F, was Collin Johnson , who was ma king t he mo st o f his t r ip up fr o m Ba kersfield . johnson , who was a midpack rider last fall, has bee n wo rking hard to ge t up to the fro nt; his 2-2 performance was proof that the ded ication is paying off. Kenny Branch roun ded out the to p three with a pair of third-place finishes. O ne of the largest turnouts was in the 250cc Beginne r class. Visalia's Randy Ingle rod e like anything but a newcomer en route to sweeping bot h races , which he had also done in the first half of the day. Behind him, Sam Crippen and Billy Co uch kept th ings interesting. Crippen had bee n the runner -up during the morn ing's races , but he had some firs t- t ur n tr ouble s in t he ope ning mo to at Little O kie. He was able to co me all the way back to fourt h, but Cou ch capitalized by finishing second. When the gate dr op ped for t he finale , t he batt le w as on : Cr ipp e n di d all he cou ld a nd rode ho me second , behind Ingle, but Couc h finished t hird, and his 2- 3 finishes we re go od enough fo r second overall, ahead of Crippen (4-2). In all honesty, eve ryone left looking a little worn out, but it was wort h it. In the end, it was one of those days that makes for great bench racing somewhere down the road.
