ve n though Ty Davis focuses
most of his attention now on
the faster grand prix-style offroad races like the WORCS
series, he certainly still knows
how to ride the tight stuff and play the
timekeeping game that define enduros .
But one might not have thought that
after witnessing his lac klust e r sixth place finish at the series opener the
week before in Arizona . Davis, however, did a comp lete turnabout to dominate ro und two of the AMNFM F Racing
National Enduro Series at the enduro
that many simply refer to as "Coalinga."
Davis pretty much dominated the 32nd
annual Salinas Ramblers-hosted Quicksilver Nat ional Enduro, especially when
the speed average bumped up to an
impo ssible-to -maintain 36 mph during
the final loop . That's when Davis got
down to business.
So just how dominant was he? The
Montclair Yamaha/Zip-Ty Racing/Moose
YZ250-mounted racer racked up a total of
20 points over the approximately 120
miles of actual trail, the longest Quicksilver
(and one of the longest Nat ionals anywhere) in years . Runner-up RandyHawkins
carded 25 points on his AM-Pro
Racing/Factory Connection/MSR YZ250
