Kevin W indham got up front early in heat two and checked out , but the story is what happened on the first lap between Chad Reed and Mike laRocco.
"In the r ight-hander after the triple, he [Reed] got inside me and kind of jumped at an angl ,

and I jumped straight, " laRocco said. "We kind of went into the valley [and crashed toget her],
and it was early in the race, so every body kept landing on us. Basically, m y bike got des troyed , so
my crew had a lo t of wo rk to do to get me back out there for that se mi."
"I just we nt up t he inside of Mike and just showed my w he el. and w he n I w ent to jump the
jump, I had no traction ," Reed said. "He still w ent for the double and kind of landed on top of
me , w hich I gue ss kind of burned both of us ."

"Fo rt unately. I was laying under my CR2S0 , and it took most o f th e hits fo r me ," la Rocco
said, "But I hurt my w rist a little bit, and the unmentionables. but other than that I w as able to
ride ."
With th ose two out . W indham led Ezra Lusk, Grant Langston and Michae l Byrne into the
main event.
N ick We y led every lap of the first semi over Tyler Evans. Robbie Reynard . Damon Huffman
and Ryan Clar k, and Reed came from behind to win the sec o nd semi over Jo e Oehlhof, laRocco,
Heath Vossand Daryl Hurley.
The LCQ w asall Mike Brown's, ashe holeshot and led every lap. Keith R. Johnson held off
Kelly Smith fo r th e sec o nd and final tr ansfer spot.
