First, th ey had to ride a full sched ule o n Sat urday th at sa w th e last m ot o s fini sh after 10:00 p.m . At that point, th e Pros were don e. but not th e Amateu r rid ers - th ey had to com e back the very next morning to pra ctic e at 9 and th en race into th e afte rnoon. It was a seri ous test for even the yo ungest and fitt est in th e field . Sunday 's races wer e held on the perma nent Mad era Fairgrounds tra ck , as op po sed to in sid e the Spee dway, like the night before . T hi s offered a m ore fam ili ar layout to CMA regula rs ~ a welc ome re lief to the tired and sore riders. Despi te the demanding sched ule, hundreds sh owe d up to wr ap th in g s up in grand sty le. To put an em phasis on endurance and determinati on , the orga nizers anno unce d th at th e fin al day wou ld be scored w ith full poin ts per mota . Ch ase Walk er stretched his series lead in the 8 5cc Beg inner class wi th a doubl e-m oto win. In race one, he passed Rob ert McDaniel quickly and p u ll ed a w a y from th e pac k . McDaniel was abl e to stay ahead of a clos ing Ang ie Knox for seco nd. Walker led race two fro m start to finish on his Suz uk i. M cDa n ie l fe ll o n la p one an d dropped to last place. D o w n ing ra n well ahead o f th e fiel d, while Cook m oved to second, first Youth (12 -1 5 ) entry . Wynn pl aced th ird, over Bech' s YZ2 50.
