COSHOCTON , OH. OCT. I Twin brothe rs Shaun and Scott Kuc hler of Westerville. Ohio . were the best of the best at the Cos hocton round of the Ohio County Fairs Mo tocross Champions hip S eries. The excita ble lads stole the show at the Coshocton County Fairg ro unds. With a few hund red riders competing and tho usands of fans circling the trac k and invad ing the gra ndstands, the twins showed their talents as they roos ted off from the competition to tangle in two classes, This one -mo te co unty- fair format would see the twins go one -two in the 16 Through 24 age-group divis ion and dice for the lead in the 250cc Pro class as well. It was old number 22, Scott, who took both wins, with number 45, Shaun , close be hind in both motos after the siblings put on a terrific show for the fans on this technical co urse . Kyle Ditcher was very impressive o n the night, spanking the field in both the Supermini and 85cc (12- 15) clas ses. Chase Kilbarger was th e top dog in the 50cc (7 -8) and 65cc classes. Old and fast J im Witteman can never ge t enough motocross. The longtime Honda big bo re pilot took th ree classes - the Over 25 , Over 30 and Open classes. E ve n t ho ug h it wa s a sc ho o l n ight , it wa sn 't hard for Jos h Ton e y to t a ke t he S c hoolboy cl ass, and, for ho me wo rk , he rocked the 125c c B cla ss as well, taki ng two wins on the evening . Results B y FAT BIlLY contest, but "F1yin' Ryan " Huffman q uick ly got aro und him and pulled out a large ie ad. Huffman wowed the crowd by jumping the huge s ingl e -to-tabletop section , while Sparkman tried it in pract ice a nd cased it har d. Huffman soo n ha d his own trou bles , as he slid on the takeoff of the "Larry " jum p (na med after local Pro Larry J on es , who was one of the first-ever riders to double it) and hit the face of the lan ding hard . He kept it going, tho ugh , and continued to hold on to the lea d. Anthony Cerruti battled with Sp arkm an for third, while the top Int ermed iate ride r, J o shua J o hns on, had to deal with Corey Bye. J ohnson beg an to have se rious problems and s lowed down co ns iderab ly. Huffman took an ea sy win, with S pa rkman and Cerruti in tow. In m oto two , Spa rkman ab sconded with another holeshot. Huffman was a no -sh ow, as he cased the "Larry " jump in the 125cc class and broken his ankle and possibly his co llarbon e . S pa rkman once aga in had to hold off Cerruti, but eve ntua lly he pu lled away. Run ning a lonely third was top Intermedi ate Pete Sann a n, who co uld n't q uite ca tc h Cerru ti, in second . Sp arkman took the win in convincing style, while Cerruti finish ed second , an d third went to Sann an . Spa rkma n (2-1) took the overall in th e 250cc Pro class, while Huffman ( I- DNS) took second. Cerruti ( I - I ) won the 125cc Interme diat e class, while Bye (2-3) took second, and th ird went to Sannan (4 -2 ). In fourth was Joey Lancaster, and Johnson finished a disappointing fifth (5 -DNF). The 125cc Pros and 250cc Intermediates rush ed into the first co mer tog et her, and it was J am es Hamilton who ca me out in front. Th e Sc ott/W a sh ou gal MX Par k/N o Fear-b a cked Huffman quickly bla sted by. Huffman built a healthy lead. leaving Hamilton to hold off J oel Ard . Th e two battled cl os el y for th e enti re moto , nev er too far a pa rt. Leading the Inter mediat e class was Johnso n in fourth o verall, but he co uldn't ca tch th e leader s . Huffman took the checkers. with the battling Hamilton and Ard in second and third, res pectively. In the second mota, J oh nson garn ered the hoieshot, but Huffman shot by a few mom en ts later. Huffman' s lead lasted only a la p before he tried the "Larry" jump and went down in a heap . Hamilton found himself in the lead, a nd once aga in he had to hold off Ard. J ohn son dropped ba ck sev eral pos itions but held on to the Inte rme d iate lead. Hamilton he ld off Ard for the win, while Ard had to settle for second. J ohn so n was a lonely th ird. Ham ilton (2-1) took the win in the 125cc Pro class, while Ard (3 -2 ) finished second and Huffm an ( I- DNF) fini sh ed third. Joh nso n (I - I ) won the 250cc Inte rmediate cla ss, and Nick Claino (2-2) came away with sec ond .
