Simmon s scored four clas s w in s o n th e
night, with his best ride com ing in t he Mad
Dog IT. He went to the fron t and crept away
for th e win, while Aa ro n Ladd and Stevi e Na ce
traded pai nt fo r seco nd. Ladd eamed the spot
at the flag .
Ladd was perfect the rest of the night and
rolled 10 th e win in the Open Pro class. Ky le
Kelly hounded Dean Faulkner earl y on befor e
finding an opening to finish second .
Faulkner tried hard for the win in th e Vet
class but cam e up ha lf a wheel short to winner
Gene Yopp . Ed Clark filled out th e rostrum .
Dennis Porter held off a determ ined Yopp
to earn the Senior- cl ass win . Clark came from
a bad start to clos e on the leaders but had to
settle for th ird, o ver David Bro wn and Do n
Duncan .

In th e Wil d Cat O pe n Pro heat race, Jeff
An nen soundly beat both Jethr o and Sam Helbert. Know ing t hat th e sta rt would be a ll im portant in th e main eve nt , Jethro grabbed
th e lead , with Sam a cl os e second , wh ile
Annen was stuc k in third. Jethro set a ve ry
fast pa ce as the top thr ee steadily pu lled away
from the rest of the field . It wa s a clo se, tense
race for all 15 lap s. but at th e fini sh the orde r
remained the same , with J ethro ta k i ng th e
win , hi s b ro t he r Sam a close se cond and
Ann en havin g to sett le fo r thi rd.
At the sta rt o f t he 125/25 0 c c M od ified
ma in , Du stin Pru czinsk i stol e th e lead . Lap
after la p , Chris Celorie applied maximum
pressure, and at halfway he passed Pruczinski.
Now it was ti m e for Celorie to feel Pruczinski's
h o t br e at h , b ut despite his best effo rts ,
Pru czin sk i fi nished a close secon d . E lliot
Oquist was th ird .
Kurt Edwa rds absconded w ith the holeshot
in the Over 30 main . St ev e Pow er slid into
second. On lap th ree , Han k M iller lo w sided
com ing out of the sweepe r. and the race was
red -flagged . Hank was able to restart, with
nothin g m ore tha n road rash. On the restart,
Garry Roll er and Pow er batt led throug h the
fi rst tum . Power led o ver th e j um p, and Ro ller
ca m e under att ack fro m a relentles s Ed wards,
who m ad e a go o d ins ide p ass on Ro ll er for
second . Th en Ed wa rd s cl o sed th e g ap t o
Power, but he ran ou t of laps.

Scott Bak er took th e lead, determined no t to
let his youn ger brother Brad have it . Chasing
the Baker boy s is no easy job, bu t just th e
sam e, J .D . Beach gave it all he had in thi rd.
Th e crowd was tre ated to the sight of three of
th e Northwest 's best and brightest go ing at it.

A ma teur m ain , Pruczinski pull ed ou t all the
stops but just co uldn't quite get clo se eno ug h
to m ake a m ove. Oquist took a well -deserv ed
win, Pruczinski was a soli d seco nd, and Chase
Gil bert was a fine th ird.
Gary Beach cou ld have used an electric
sta rter on his Trium ph , as he killed the m ot or
trying to get off th e line in his heat race and
wound up fin ishing last. At the start of th e
Twins main, Gary faced another uphill battl e,
as the Todd brothers, Kam and Koby , beat
him to th e first tum. However , Gary put some
smooth m oves on the Todd brothers through
th e infie ld to take the lead , and he had a corn fortable lead at the finis h. Karn took second .
