A s the pack roos ted through the first dirt secti on, the fir st four made it th rough okay, but Dickson went down and brought McAllister and two or th ree other ri ders with him. Th e race was red fl a g ged , and ne ithe r McAllister nor J ason Pullen could make the restart. At th e second green flag , Orlandi got the hole shot, bu t it soo n beca me o bvious that his rear tire was go ing away big-time. He lost the top spot to Lu c che si , who was fo llowed by Biava . A co up le of laps later , Biava got by Lu cch esi and sta rt ed to pull away. Dev eau passed O rla nd i , w ho was cl ea rly strugg li ng w ith his rubber , As Biava began to ga p th e field , Dev eau made up grou nd on Lu cch esi , in second . Deveau and Lucch esi d iced for six o r seven la ps , bu t Deveau sim p ly co uldn' t get by . At the fi ni sh, it was Biav a, Lucch esi and Deveau . Series poi nts lead er Ky le Chi sho lm was absent. whic h opened the door for his co m pe ti tion to fig ht it o ut for the win, Team Gree n pi lot Kyl e Meeks was set to uph old Kawasaki's honor and ta ke on the Suzuk i qua rtet of Dean Dyess, Kyl e Tobin , Ky le Key lon and Br andon Abell , as well as a very fast suppo rt ing cast. Abell snagged th e fi rst-mota ho leshot, in sp ite of having just ridden h is new RMZ250 four -stroke for the first time in practice . Meek s and Dyess were right in hi s wake, wi th Tu rning Wh eel Sp o rt Ce nter's Billy Harper, WM R' s . Tobi n, Camden Cruz and Key lo n in tow , The two leaders proceeded w ith an epi c race-lon g wa r to the checkers, never m ore than a few bik el engths apart for th e entire m ota , Dy ess was the only ride r able to kee p them in sig ht, and he had the best seat in the ho use to watch th e actio n o ut fro nt. Meek s had nu me ro us ch ances to block -pass Ab ell but k ept the bat tle cle an in his pur sui t of the win. In the end , A bell held on for a narro w vic to ry o ver Meek s, with Dy ess abo ut five seco nds behind in third. Tob in bagged fourth, with Key lon roun din g out th e top five. Abell pull ed ho leshot number tw o in the secon d mota , and M eeks was aga in rig ht behi nd him . At the end of the ope ni ng lap , th e t wo were gl ued together, with Tobin and Key lon lo cked in a battle over thi rd, about th ree seco nds beh ind the leaders.
