behi nd him. Th is time, Cheramie won the race
to the check er ed fl ag . Chera m ie we nt on to

He snatc hed the ho leshots in both m otos of

Templet moved up to ch allenge him on the
first lap o f the seco nd m ota . Th ey went side
by side up the 65 ·foot tabletop, but only Tem p le t ex ited safel y ; Paet z went o ver th e bar s
and crashed , scaring th e cro wd . However, he
j ump ed right back up and finished the race,
ga rne ring seco nd . Te m plet go t th e overall with
a 2- 1 tally. which beat Paetz's 1· 2 score.

rider Tr ent Can non rac ed him hard until his
ba c k -b ra ke rot or go t bent. He had to lay it
down t o av oid th e fence at th e en d of t h e

m oto, he borr owed a KX 100 and milked every
bi t of pow er from it en rou te to a th ird -pla ce
