Th e Pro s li ned the gate , and the spec tators who were li ning the fence s were tr eat ed to a wonderful ho leshot by Humphrey, aboard his YZ250F, in the opening 125cc Pro m oto. Rey na rd followed close behind, aboard his Rey· nard Mod ifica tio ns- backed KX 125, j ust ahead of Nat haniel Benoit , Robbie Sm ith and Marley. Wi th in th e fi rst lap , Reynard used an outside pass on Hum phrey th rou gh a rhythm sec tion and made hi s qu ic k ge taw ay . By the end of th e first lap, Smith had taken over the point, after Humphrey slid out and let th e pack by . Reynard quickl y j um ped in t o second . w hile Marley was mired back in the pack . One lap later, Reyn ard pull ed off the tra ck ( it was later rev ealed th at Rey nard had banged his kne e a little and decided to call it a night so as not to risk any furt her poss ible inju ry), letti ng Smith go unchallenged as he rode flawl essly on the way to th e mot o win . as we ll as the overa ll vic tory , well ahead of Marl ey . " I was expec ting Robbie to ca tch m e o n that first lap, but he didn ' t. A bou t th e thi rd lap , I saw hi m off the t rack , so I kn ew I wou ld be okay so long as I d idn't m ak e any m istak es. T ha t felt good ." When th e 250 cc Pro s cam e to th e gate, all eyes were fi xed on Rey nard . T he sta rt ing ga te c ame down, and thi s ti m e it wa s Sm ith in the lead , with Reynard in tow . Just beh ind th em , the pac k was clustered , as Ma rley des perately tried to get around Humphrey and Me tc alf and get up front bef or e anyone c ou ld ge t away. T hat was not to be , ho wev er , as Rey na rd quick ly m ade wo rk of Sm ith and im mediately began t o ga p the field . Shortly, Marl ey got around Sm ith and tried to stay with Reynard. Th at, also, was not to be: The end of th e moto belon ged to Rey nard , well ahe ad of Marl ey and Smith. Wh en th e sec o nd m oto go t under wa y , Sm it h ab sc on ded with t he holeshot , edg ing out Metcalf and Tommy Dalton . Marley again had t o work hi s way up fro m a m ediocre st art . Marley qu ickly got around Metcalf and Dalton and went after Sm ith . Th eir battle was shortl ived , t ho ugh , as Smi t h sli d out and went down. M et calf and B en oit t ook over seco nd and third , respec tively . As Ma rley co nti nued to pull away, Smith was clawi ng his way back throug h the pa ck , and he was soo n o n Met c alf's rea r ti re. T hen Smith qu ic k ly fo und a way around and sett led into second . A t th e end of the race , Marley won the m ot o and th e overa ll, ahead of Smi th and Metcalf. Cli fto n was doing m ore than j ust watchi ng. as he got by Schr tt ter and was looki ng to ge t b y T ingey . Bost wick held on for the win , with Ti ngey seco nd and a pressing Cl ifto n third. Mota two had Bostwick pow ering hi s way to the early lead , w ith Ti ng ey and Cli fton cl ose behind . Cli fton m ade his way aro und T in gey and set hi s sights on Bostw ick , who was still t ry in g to ho ld off Cli ft on as th e moto dr ew cl oser to its fini sh. Clifto n m ade his m ove on Bo stw i ck a n d t o ok t he lea d. Th en Cli f to n p ulle d slig htl y away and appeared ready to ta ke the win, but he slipped and went down wi th th e check er s in sigh t. He remounted as ,Bo st w ic k wen t by and was still ab le to tak e sec ond , behin d w inn er Bostwick , wh o too k the overall, with Clifton seco nd and T ingey o n the final po dium spo t. David Panzer slipped his way pas t J am es Beck go ing in to the fi rst co mer and too k the lead In the first 125cc Pro moto. Borges had to wo rk for every wi n , as he was c o nst antl y battling back and forth with Kipp Posey . Borges was not th e on ly m ultiple -cla ss win ner, as Brandon Leith. J.D. E llio tt, Decode Sorochuk and Ben i Will iam s we re all do ub leclass wi nners. Sorochuk started off by taki ng the 8 5cc ( 12 · 15) pac k int o th e fi rst co rner , an d he nev er lo ok ed back . So rochu k pow ered away fro m th e rest of the fi eld. gain ing o ne to two seco nds per lap . Beh ind him, A ustin J ens en and Keaton Ol und were having a battl e of t heir own. O lund had seco nd pla ce, but Jensen was not letting Ol un d h ave an easy ti m e o f it , s ho w i n g O l und h i s wh e el a f e w ti m e s . So roc huk too k an im pressive win , with O lund holding off J ensen for seco nd . T he seco nd m oto appeared to be a replay of th e fi rst , as th e sp eedy Soroc huk aga in grabbed th e lead. However, this time J ensen got in fr ont of Olund, and now th e shoe was on th e othe r foot : J ensen would have to hold off Olund this moto.
