Rid ers Association of Co lo ra do 's Mini st ars ,
Todd Ban ni ster, wield ed his 65 cc KTM in a
heat ed , week end -lo ng batt le for the su per c ross cham pionship in the 65 cc (1 0- 1 1) class .
He emerged triumph ant, adding ye t ano ther
tit le to his im pressive li st. Wha t else was new
for this pop ular , pre mier rac er whose m ultiple
ch ampionships, ta lent, hard work and co nfi den c e are seco nd only to his heart of go ld? By
week end 's end , Bannister rac ed off w ith not
o ne but two Sup ercross Series cham p ionships
for 20 03 , one in th e 6 5cc ( J 0- I I ) class and
th e other in the 85 cc (7 - J 1) Advanc ed cla ss!

At the start , Yar row m ade it to turn o ne
fi rst, but Chandl er and Ba gn is were br eath ing
do wn hi s neck . Yar row j ust pu t hi s head down
and ran his own rac e. Cha ndl er wa s all over
h im , lap after lap . as Ba gn is sat ba ck a few
y ards and j ust hoped th at th ose tw o would
tak e eac h other o ut. How ever, Yarrow ran a
consistent line, ma k ing it impossible for Chand ler to pass . Chandler s KTM obvio usly ma de
goo d horsep ower , c at c h ing up t o Ya rr ow' s
Honda at th e end of th e straight. but Chan dler
just couldn't get by him . On lap 16, Chandler
got a litt le im patie nt and blew th e fir st corn er.
Bagn is slipped by h im into seco nd . Pucho , on
a Verte mati , m ade up a litt le bit of g ro und
o n Yarrow , but Yarrow st uc k it o u t fo r t he
check ers.
On a side note, J ason "Bling Bli ng" Pullen
ex ited the Novice c atego ry after j ust one race.
Pullen, known for the fat go ld chain he always
wea rs , won a close rac e, and he's no w ready
to fig ht it out with the big boy s.
