Th e Mos ier Valley tr ack had gone th rou gh a lot of c hanges, a nd turning the tra c k backward ga ve the ci rc uit a fresh feel for riders to experience. Loui siana' s Di llon Vanway felt rig ht at home on th e co urse, tak in g a stro ng w in in th e 65cc O pe n class. Ry an Sullivan go t a great sta rt in th e first 65cc Open rnoto , pow ering his Ka wasa ki t o th e ea rly lead , ahead of Vanway and Hect or Varel a. Vanway did n 't sit in sec ond for long . as he took the lead go ing th rou gh the ste pdown sec t io n on the first lap . A s the whi te flag came o ut , Powers decid ed it was now or never and took second from Sulli van, who had no tim e t o relax, as Howle had only one rider sta nd ing betw een himself and a po dium fin ish . U p fr ont, Vanway had built a IS -sec ond lead ove r Pow ers. T he race fo r th ird was still und ecid ed, as Howle cl osed in on Sullivan . Red Bud brushed off th e red ca rpet sto red in the old ba rn and roll ed it out for the 5 I B Vet race rs in atte ndance. Th e trac k was in exc ellen t sh ape , th ank s to the hard work of Ti m Rit ch ie and his top -n otch st aff. Rider s c am e fro m as far away as Texas, West Vi rginia and Colorado. The Rac er X Sen ior Champion ship wouldn't exis t with out the support of Racer X, Tuff Racing, T orque Center , Pro Circ uit, Scot t USA, PJI , NG K , T hor, Wi sec o , Factory Con c epts an d S mi th . These com pa n ies support the series and rew ard the top 10 at eac h eve n t w ith grea t prizes. The loam y , sandy co mposite terrain buil t up m an y a m ultiline berm, making for excellent pass ing lanes. Th e huge Red Bud arsena l of jumps were all peaked for m ax im um ai r t im e, wi th safe landing ramp s for th e guys who want ed to act half th eir age.
