Nearly 600 en tran t s from 20 states as well as Canada and South America were on hand to take part in a format that a llowe d every r ider to co mpete agai nst ot he r ride rs thei r ow n ag e . T he eve nt kicked off with tw o days o f open pr actic e o n th e M o untai n , fol low ed by a one- moto-per- d ay sc he dul e th at ensured p lenty of t rac k t ime for eve rybo dy. Promot er Ga ry Bl ackwell w ent all ou t to ens ure a gre at eve nt, as usual. In ad dition to p roviding a pe rfec tly g roo me d and watered track da ily , B la c k w ell h o st ed a ll sorts of n ig h t t ime activities fo r t he riders and families . The Monster Mo un tai n con ces sion staff provided a sit-down dinner each night; in addition , there were supe rcross ra c es for the dads and a tag-tea m p a nt y -cr o s s r a c e that proved to be a highlight of the week end . In addition, a super bingo 5es sion on Saturday night saw m a n y great prizes awarded, includ ing autographed MX gear from so me of the nation's top stars . D a ily door prizes were awa rded . Alabama took th e runner-up sp ot with eight wins. The 50cc division s provided some of the best racing action all weekend . North Carolina 's Michael Young fini s h e d the weekend on t o p in the younges t group with a three-mot o sweep of th e 4 -year·old cl ass. Georgia 's Col eman Martin did likew ise in the 5 ·year-olds and backed that up with a win i n th e Oil -Injected class. G eorg ia ' s La ure l Smi th t o pp ed th e girls' 50cc c lass , also wi th a sweep . The 6 5cc ra c es saw se ve ral doub le -class w inn ers .
