EAST BEND, NC, JULY 26
At round six or the NIIA District 29 Summer/
Fall Series at East Bend Motorsports in East
Bend, North Carolina, the 65cc (7-9) class
had some great racing going on. Darrell Sellers and Brandon Wollenhaupt had a great bat·
tie for the top spot. Both of these little guys
were taking their 65s over all the jumps that
even some of the big-bike riders were not
attempting.
In the first mota, Sellers got out in front of
Wollenhaupt on the narrow track. Behind
them, Dylan Carringer had a spill and was
slow to get back on his bike. This let lach
Newberry and Jimmie Dunn each move up a
position. Carringer finally got going again, and
he did make it back past Sean Snalvoy to take
the fifth spot. Sellers held off Wollenhaupt for
first, and Newberry took third, over Dunn.
In the second moto, Wollenhaupt got out in
front of Sellers and tried to put some distance
between them, but Sellers kept him in sight.
Carringer was making a great run, with no
slips, to hold on to third. Newberry's bike
seized, which put him in the last-place position; he had to push the bike off the track.
Dunn took advantage of Newberry's bad luck
and took the fourth spot. Snalvoy sneaked up
on Dunn and took the spot away. Wollenhaupt
rode flawlessly to take first in the second moto
and first overall. Sellers took second, with
Carringer taking third and third overall with a
5-3 tally. Dunn took fourth overall, followed
by Newberry and Snalvoy.
Sellers was out by himself in the 50cc
(7-8) class, sweeping both motos. Behind
him, Carringer and Snalvoy battled for the
second position. Carringer took the second
spot in both matos, followed by Snalvoy.
Fourth went to Marcus Beasley, and fifth went
to Jordan Smith.
In the 250cc A contest, Doug Earls took
off to sweep the first spot in both motos, but
battles raged on behind him. In the first mota,
Wesley Sapp got the hoieshot and held off
Earls for a couple of laps, until Earls shot by.
Brandon Langdon was behind Michael
Thomas, taking it easy due to a knee injury
from earlier in the year. Sapp had problems

Western Kentucky Supercross: Jason
Stills topped the 14-29 and Open A
classes in Nebo, Kentucky.
track. When the checkers dropped, Young was
the winner. with Murphy second and Fortner
third.
The Over 30 class continued the roost gig.
with Tim Coble and Jason Kraus blasting out
of the gate. Coble took the early lead in mota
one. Kraus followed furiously, right on Coble's
tire, and kept the leader aware that he was
right there, waiting for that opportunity to
pass.
Moto two was another skirmish between
Cobie and Kraus. Cobie got the holeshot, but
Kraus didn't let him keep the lead this time.
Kraus passed Coble at the turn before the
back stretch and took the second-moto victo-
ry and the overall win.
Sharing a gate drop with the 14·29 class,
the Schoolboys waged a truly berm-busting,
roost-throwing. rut-making set of motos.
Jason Stilis, in the 14·29 class. took the lead
from everyone else. throwing his sick whips
across the jumps and working the track like a
master artist on his own canvas! Murphy had
the hammer down, trying to catch Stills, while
Schoolboys Colby Bowles and Russell Bell
were doing the same to stay in the front-of·
the-pack action. In moto one, Stills took an
easy win in the 14-29 class, and Bowles
topped the Schoolboys.
The 14·29 ciass and the Schooiboys didn't
let the fire die in mota two. Stills took the lead
and proceeded to show the rest of the racers
how to do it. Battle·ready Bell had gotten in
front of Bowles at the first turn and didn't
seem to want to give it up. Bowles went down
in the first turn and was trying to catch up to
the front, but a flat tire slowed him down a bit.
Stills took another win in the 14-29 class, and
Bell claimed the win in the Schoolboys.
Bowles still managed a second-place finish.
Sharing the gate, the 125cc B class and
the Open A class gave Bowles, Bell, Young.
Stills and Kraus another chance at each other!
Unstoppable, Stills again led the way for
everyone else. In the Open A portion. Kraus
was not letting up on Stills, whiie Bowles, Bell
and Young were working their magic in the
125cc B battle. These racers slapped the rub·
ber to the track for two high-speed motos that
ended with Stills the Open A victor and
Bowles in charge of the 125cc B class.
