Mancuso and Ard put on a great battle. with Mancuso gaining a little time by tripling the huge back triple, but YZ250F rider Ard would soak it back up in the comers. Behind the leaders. Brandon Sheffel, Lewis and Chris Bennet were all fighting over fourth place, while Tim Halas broke out of the pack early to take over third. On the white-flag lap, Ard heated it up and went for the pass on Mancu· so, but Mancuso blocked his line and held on to take the checkered flag, ahead of Ard. Halas took third, followed by Sheffel and Bennet in fourth and fifth, respectively. In the second moto, Lewis again nabbed the holeshot. but Mancuso and Halas got around him by the end of the first lap. Halas gave Mancuso some pressure but fell back after a few laps. Despite a drastic power disadvantage. Ard fought back and overtook Halas on the fifth lap, before the back triple. Mancuso went down while leading behind the starting gate and hurt his wrist in the fall. Ard took advantage to take over the lead, and he held on to it all the way to the checkers. Halas finished second, and Lewis was third. Ard (2-1) picked up the overall win, followed by Halas (3-2) in second, and Mancuso (1-4) managed third place. Jon Burton (4-3) was a lonely fourth. The Over 40 Old-Timers put on a good show, with Mark Hector grabbing the holeshot honors in the first Expert/Amateur moto. Robert Schuh quickly dropped Hector to second and flat left the pack in the dust. Forrest Lytle had to overcome a poor start and forged through the pack to take sixth, but he couldn't catch Kent Reynolds, in fifth. When the checkers flew, the top five were Schuh, Hector, Jeff Lillebo. Steve Pulsinelli and Reynolds. In the second moto, "Holeshot" Hector added yet another holeshot to his record, but Dave Eakin blew by him for the lead. Eakin pulled out a comfy lead, while Reynolds passed Hector for second. Eakin took the win, followed by Reynolds in second and Schuh in third. Eakin (2-1) took the win in the Expert class, while Schuh (1-2) took second. In the Amateur class, it was Hector (1-2) with the win, Reynolds (4-1) in second and Lillebo (2-3) in third. Lytle (5-4) took fourth. and rounding out the top five was Polsinelli (3-6). WMN: I. LIVERMORE, CA, JULY 25 Round five of the I Mota Friday Night Series was another success, as well over 300 riders again made their way to Club Moto and were treated to some great racing. Modesto, California's Preston "Yak Attack" Mull took the wins in the BOcc Intermediate and BOcc (B-1 I ) classes. Riding his Stockton Yamaha, Mull put a whuppin' on the 80cc Intermediate class, win· ning both motos to put an exclamation point on his victory. Marcus Bradshaw, also riding a YZ, placed second in both motos to secure second overall. Bradshaw and Mull have bat· tied before, but this night belonged to Mull.
