Daniel's Ridge Motocross Mr. Green and Mr. Bean By MARK NEUENS TAYLORSVILLE, NC, JULY 20 At round five of the AMA District 29 Summer/Fail Series at Daniel's Ridge Motocross in Taylorsville, North Carolina, Tyler Bright led the seven· rider-strong Schoolboy class in the first moto. He was followed closely by Forrest Seebeck. Justin McBrayer and Jonathan Balfour did battle behind them. Bright rode flawlessly, pulling a gap between himself and Seebeck. Balfour was working hard on passing McBrayer but ran out of time. Bright took first, followed by Seebeck, McBrayer and Balfour. In the second moto, Balfour was out due to a crash in another class, but Seebeck was looking to beat Bright. They came off the gate with Seebeck and Bright side by side and with neither letting up. They went off the first jump and landed side by side. and their bikes got hooked together going into the next double. On their sides, they went over the face of the jump and crashed in a pile. The race was redflagged, and Bright got up first, only to find that his bike was done for the day. Seebeck was slow to get up. and his day was finished as well. On the restart, McBrayer took off. with Jeremy Reid and James Kennedy right behind him. After all the DNSs were counted, McBrayer took first overall with a 3-1 tally, followed by Reid (6-2) and Kennedy (7-3). Bright took fourth, and Seebeck took fifth. This left the lead in the 125cc B class wide open for Malt Green. Bright had taken the first moto with a sweet ride on his KTM, but he took a DNS after his Schoolboy-class crash. Balfour crashed in the first mota and scored a DNF. but he rode the second moto to get enough points to take second overall. Green took the overall by staying upright and recording a 2-1 finish. The Supermini class had a few lead changes. P.J. Larsen won the first mota. but Josh Thomas made the pass in moto two to hold down first overall in the class. Jeremy Stroupe took third, with Reid fourth and Andrew Smith fifth. The 65cc (7-9) ciass. also seven riders strong. witnessed some great acrobatics on the little bikes by Joe Bean and William Dickson. In the first mota, Dickson took the holeshot and had a flawless ride, leaving Bean to follow. However, Bean would not let up, and when Dickson made a slip in the second mota, Bean took over and never looked back. Dickson made it back up to second in the moto, but Bean took the overall win. Third went to Tanner Sunders, followed by Jimmie Dunn in fourth and Brandon Wotlenhaupt in fifth.
