Justin Thomas took the hoieshot. ahead of Justin Pulsifer and Steven Ball, in the first moto of the 125cc Novice ciass. Bali passed Pulsifer before the end of the first lap, and H. McMilian moved into fourth. Then McMillan ran into trouble and dropped way back into the field. Cinco Swisher took over fourth place, ahead of Chris Coliins. At the end of the mota, it was Thomas ahead of Ball at the checkers. Swisher and Pulsifer were locked in a battie for third, but Pulsifer was able to hang on to the position. Ball took the holeshot in the second mota, ahead of McMillan and Swisher. Ball's lead was short·lived, as he crashed on the first lap. Ball remounted in midpack, and he tried to pick his way through, along with first-moto winner Thomas. The overall was now up for grabs. McMillan comfortabiy picked up the point and began to run with it, while Swisher took over second. At the end of the first lap, it was McMilian ahead of Swisher, Puisifer and Cody Hedge. The running order went unchanged until the fourth lap, when Hedge fell out of the top five and Kevin Salzar moved into fourth, foliowed by Joshua Wade. Wade had his hands full with Thomas and Bali, who were in sixth and seventh, respectively, and trying to pick up valuable points. Ultimately they finished in that order. McMillan, combining a second-moto win with a J 7th in the first moto, finished seventh overall. Swisher's 4-2 score earned him the win. ahead of Pulsifer (3-3). Thomas beat Bali to take third overali. Wade's 8-5 taliy rounded out the top five. By BRIAN COMEAO CONROE, TX, JULY 12 After taking a weekend off, the T J's Cyciesponsored STC Sun and Stars Over Texas Summer Series came to Three Palms Extreme Sports Park for round two of the six-race series. A little more than 430 entrants came out for some racing under the lights at one of Houston's premier racetracks. Many riders were coming back to the track for the first time in months, but for Kyle Williams, it was the first race in 14 months. Williams had been out with a wrist injury that sidelined him for the better part of a year, foliowed by a slow return to racing in the always-competitive Expert class.
