Motocross Park will also host round nine of the highly anticipated annual Western FourStroke National Motocross Championships on August 9. 1VMP's state-of-the-art in-ground sprinkler system kept the track in 'round-the-clock premium condition for Amateurs and Pros alike. Young Riggle, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, made huge strides on the competition, keeping it on two wheels in moto one of the 51 cc (4-8) Combined class and roaring his way to an impressive second-place finish, behind the unstoppable Silver. The Finish Line Minissponsored Silver ("Have Cobra. Will Travel") has been on a winning streak in SRAC's MX series, and he maintains a powerful lead in the supercross arena. No doubt about it, this young racer is blaZing a trail of glory to a state championship title. Or two. Possibly three. Temperatures soared into the 90s as moto two got under way, and Silver got all Jurassic on the competition. He snapped up another holeshot for the day from a gate notorious for the steep slope that looms beyond: Horsepower Hill. Another ambitious Mini man, Mitchell Gifford. pinned back his KTM's throttle to ensure himself a go at second place, but Riggle, in third. would have none of thatl At the crest of Horsepower Hill, Riggle swung around little Gifford and raced forward and onward, while a handful of aggressive Mini motovelociraptors nipped at his back wheel all moto long, all the way to the checkered nag, where Riggle claimed a second-overall finish. Riggle got the silver, and Silver got the gold! Logan May, on his "Cobra-saurus" roared his way to a bronze finish, a positive sign of things to come for this young racer. Pumpkin riders Daniel McKune and Tyler Nishjda charged into fourth and fifth. For more information on the upcoming West Four-Stroke National in Lakewood, check out www.mxthundervalley.com.
