Arkansas, took control at the start and never looked back. Riding like a man on a mission, the ll-year-old Bloxham put his head down and simply checked out. Behind him, Yamaha rider Arredando battled Action Honda rider Blake Godin; the two swapped positions several times before finally crossing the checkered flag with Godin in second. Arredando settled for third after a small spill. A.J. Walker and Casey Fisher rounded out the top five. In the second moto. Godin put his CR85 into the early lead. followed closely by Arredando and Bloxham. Within a lap, however, Arredando had the lead, leaving Godin and Bloxham to give chase. Walker, Fisher and the rest of the pack followed. Arredando rode at such a pace that he shook off the charging Godin and continued to pull away. They eventually finished in that order, with Bloxham dropping back to fourth. In the combined 250cc Expert/Open Outlaw classes, first-moto holeshot honors went to Shawn Wright, aboard his Reynard Modified/M2R/Renthai/Troy Lee Designs CR250. He was closely chased by Outlaw rider Mike McCutcheon, aboard his Viper Racing YZ250. as YZ-mounted Brandon Falkenbach and New York State rider Steve Bond gave chase. The only Expert in the moto. Wright showed his smooth style and blazing speed. easily putting distance between himself and the rest of the pack. Behind Wright, McCutcheon built his own small lead over Falkenbach and Bond. The second go-around started out a little differently. Going up the start straight into the first corner, there was more swapping paint than on a NASCAR short track. The early leader was McCutcheon. "Man, it felt good to get in there and battle with a guy like Shawn," McCutcheon enthused. "He's fast. and you can't lel him get away, so I went in and just did what I could to get the holeshot.Unfortunately for the ever· smiling McCutcheon. his lead would be gone in the first half-lap, as Wright chose a few smoother lines in a rhythm section and dispatched McCutcheon back to second place and then marched on to victory for the fourth straight moto. (Wright also won both 125cc Expert motos.) "That felt good." Wright said. "Mike's a fast guy. and J just wanted to get around him early and pull out a lead of some kind. I also wanted to win tonight and dedicate it to Robbie Reynard; he got hurt a couple weeks ago, and I wanted to win this for him. His dad has done some incredible work to my bikes. Without Robert and Robbie. my bikes would definitely not be as fast as they are." Results ------- 50 BEG: I Wyatt Cross (pol): 2. Dylan Van Zweel (Hon); 3. Carlisle County Fairgrounds Lewis Lassoes Bardwell Wins By BOBBY l.EwJs BARDWELL, KY, JUNE 7 The Kentucky Dirt Track Series returned to Bardwell for round five and found a rougherthan-normal track. The surface did allow for multiple lines, which produced some good racing. Jake Lewis found the track suited him, as he won five of the six classes he entered. He rode to convincing wins in the 50cc Chain and 65cc Short Track and TT classes. When the 85cc TT field hit turn one. Jonathan Heiden led the way. over Nikki Spore, Mike Heiden and Lewis. Then Lewis used the high line to move to second off turn two and used a late-braking maneuver to take the lead as they turned into the infield. Jonathan kept the pressure on, looking to pass, but Lewis never bobbled in the eight·lap dash and carded the win. Spore rode to third, while Cody Brown held off Jesse Tabor for fourth. Jonathan led the Short Track feature down the back stretch and took off to a runaway win. Brown ran second for the entirety, hold· ing off Lewis at the line. Tabor held on to another fourth-place finish, over Spore and Mike. Chris Ragan made a successful return to racing with wins in both the 250cc Amateur and 200cc Pro-Am classes. He used two perfect holeshots to do the deed. Erhardt Heisner. Dakota Simmons and Kenny Kondoudis cue e "We have designed our facilities with the fan in mind, by enabling you to reach any section of the track in approximately two minutes. Our concessions and sanitary facilities are also locat· ed in easily accessible areas. Our unique design of having the spectators on the inside of the track, instead of the outside, allows the medical teams to reach a downed rider in less than one minute without disturbing spectators." Ken· worthy's website - By I..£E UVESEY 4 played chase in the 250cc final. Ragan worked the bottom of the track. while Jonathan tried the top in the 200cc class, but Ragan took the win by a wheel. Patrick Pyle rode to third. over Heisner. Gene Yopp ran a perfect line on the way to the Senior-class victory. Dennis Porter and Ed Clark improved on their heat·race results to run second and third. respectively. Clyde Modlin moved from the back of the field up to fourth. over Byron Ward. Dave Brown and Steve Parrish. John Faulkner held off a determined Dean Faulkner to take the win in the Vet class. Brown initially sat in third before taking a hard highside on the back straight. Yopp barely missed the cartwheeling machine and took the third position, over Ward, Clark and Kondoudis. Aaron Ladd led the Faulkner brothers on the opening lap of the Open Pro final. Ladd never moved from his spot, despite constant pressure from John, and took a narrow win. Ladd came back to dominate the Mad Dog TT, over Simmons, Stevie Nace and Jeff Spore. Nace topped a close Short Track final. over Simmons, in the class, with Simmons taking the 250cc Amateur TT win. Nick McFadden was untouchable in the 50cc Shaft division. He won both the Short Track and TT classes by a straightaway. Jacob Morris won the battle for second. over Dylan Douglas. Lexie Bealmar rode to founh in each division.
