return of Gearhart, who grabbed the holeshot and never looked back. Griener held on to the fourth· place position until crashing on the third lap. Teson again finished second, earning himself the top overall spot with his consistent rides. Shay Fischer, Jeremy Wolfe, Joe Merino and Devin Gaddy rounded out the top five in the points standings. With 39 bikes. two heat races, and a last· chance qualifier, it was anyone's race in the Supermini 80-105cc class. Team Green/Pro Circuit Kawasaki jockey Dennis Jancn was the one to catch, however, every time the gate dropped. Will Hahn spent much of his time battling for the top spot before finally settiing for second. Bentonville, Arkansas' Terren O'Dell rounded out the third spot 'in heat one. Over in heat two, the race was on, with up to five or six racers jockeying for the top positions lap after lap. After taking the holeshot, Nathan Smith dropped back behind Drew Thurman's Kawasaki and then worked to pull away from the real race that was going on behind him. among Austin Richards, Matt Munsterman and Tyler Sehr. Jonon continued his domination in mota two by being the first off the gate and on every lap thereafter. Hahn was determined to keep Jonon in his sights, even if it meant a pair of seconds to finish out the day. The rest of the top five included O'Dell, Thurman and, after a solid set of runs, Kawasaki rider Jason Hussey. The questions on everyone's minds during the 250cc Expert class were: Who is number 311, and did he really drive ail the way to Moberly, Missouri, from Fort Dodge, Iowa, just to race? It didn't take long to learn the name of Teddy Maier, even if his number plate was a blur as it roared past. Maier - who did, indeed, drive to Moberly from Fort Dodge - grabbed the holeshot in both motos and then set it on "cruise control - full-speed ahead" as he led the entire field during their two seven-lap runs. Kawasaki jockey Brian Stone was a strong second for the first half of both motos. Josh Mast, Sheidon T rieb and Carl Hansen added to the excitement as they hashed out the remaining top five positions. So. if Maier really did drive all the way from Iowa to take home a few trophies and a little cash, does this mean he's going to ride to whole series? "I certainly hope so." says Casey Haynes, assistant director of the series. "We've been working hard to get the guaranteed Pro-purse money as well as the series-points money to attract and keep riders of this caliber. Brian Stone has been a great champion, but it is exciting to see him challenged for the top spot in the Expert classes. LIMITED EDITION MOTORCYCLE ART BY HARRY MILLER ~~Me:D:1orial" .
