LEBANON, TN, MAY 11 t round three of the WERA National Challenge Series, Robert Jensen blasted off the line and ran away in the Open Superstock class on his Butler/Michelin Yamaha Rl. Mark Crozier ran third on the No Limits Cycle Honda 954, as latecharging Mark Junge, on the Vesrah Suzuki, came up to join the battle. Gregory Moore, on the GMD/Vortex Suzuki, retained a comfortable second. At the halfway point, Jensen had a six-second lead over Moore. Crozier put a little gap on Junge in their battle for third. Jensen took the checkered flag, Moore finished second, Crozier was third, Junge was fourth, and Scott Brown was fifth. "There is no trick," Crozier said when asked about the great performance of his 954cc Honda. "It is all GMD Computrack. If it wasn't for them, there is no way the bike would have made it. They got both my 954 and 600RR hooked up all weekend." At the start of the Star School 600cc Superstock race, Matt Lynn took his Michelin/Blaze Cycle Werks Suzuki into the lead. Michael Elsass ran second on the PTF Extreme A Suzuki. Four motorcycles were neck and neck for third. On the fourth lap, Elsass went down in the third turn, and Adam Durham took advantage to capture second on his Vesrah/Pirelli Suzuki. Larry Ray Dulaney took third, with fellow Honda rider Cale Swiger in fourth. With an ambulance on the track, the race was red-flagged to end the action. As Junge came to the line for the start of the 600cc Superstock Expert final, the clutch in his Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R600 began to slip. He turned around and borrowed Durham's Suzuki. Again, off the line, it was Jensen in the lead on the Butler/Arai Yamaha R6. Ricky Ford was charging on his M&C Racing Suzuki, and he moved up to grab second. Crozier held third on the No Limits Cycle CBR600RR, and Junge moved his borrowed Novice bike past John Jacobi to take fourth. On the fourth lap, Ford slid out in the second turn, and Crozier took second. Bradley Champion, on the Info Tech/Metzler Yamaha R6, charged from his lastrow starting position past Jacobi for fourth. Two laps later, Champion moved to third. On the seventh lap, the epic Honda-Yamaha battle commenced as Champion challenged Crozier. At the white flag, Champion took second, but he ran out of time to run down the winner, Jensen. "Thjs was the first opportunity to ride the Team Info Tech R6," Champion said after the race. "I started from the 11th row, and I knew I just had to put my head down and race. This is a tight track, and I just had to be patient and pick my passes. The R6 was just awesome." The start of the 125 Grand Prix final was, well, almost like being in Europe. Not only did Ryan Andrews have Valentino Rossi-replica leathers, he was racing a 125cc Aprilia with the number 46 mounted on the front. Andrews taught the rest of the field the fast way around this 1.5-mile road course, and he won with a wide margin. Honda-mounted Brian Kcraget finished second, with David Deggendorf in third. Champion came right back to run up front in the Lightweight Twin Expert race on his Metzler/Motul/Pit Bull SV Suzuki. Martin Musil held second on the BBC Racing SV, with Chris Norsand in third, but Norsand was out by the halfway point, and Jesse Janisch took third on his Ytak Racing/4&6 Racing SV. Jonathan Wuytack placed fourth on the twostroke Aprilia. As the Garber brothers battled for third in the Novice portion of this race, Dhane Marques moved into the lead on his Pirelli SV, and Jamie Eichler ran second. Dennis Batey (i) charges the first corner in the 750cc Superstock race. with John Jacobi (49). Greg Moore (behind Jacobi). Ruben Frankenfield 135) and C.R. Gittere (811) behind. Looking like Valentino Rossi, Ryan Andrews won the 125cc GP race, over Brian Kcraget Ii), In Leb8non,Tennessee. 50 JUNE 4, 2003' cue I e n e _ !IS
