Two brothers dominated the 125cc Intermediate class and still managed to make it exciting. Mark Blackwell and his younger brother lach, both aboard Yamahas, came out of the gate in moto one of the 125cc Intermediate class neck and neck. lach got around the first tum with the lead, but his big brother took it away from him by tum three. After that, it was a freight train to the checkers. Following for third was Jimmy Albertson, also on a Yama· ha. Coming from bad starts, Yamaha jockey Jerad DeArmon and Robbie Robertson both charged through the pack to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Moto two was an identical start for the Blackwell brothers, with lach getting around tum one in front of Mark and Mark taking over the lead in tum three. Honda rider Ben Schrik held on to third until the white flag came out; halfway through that lap, he crashed hard, tuming third over to Andy Hammond, Though Hammond hadn't been able to keep his Yamaha on two wheels in moto one, he stayed upright to finish third the second time around. KTM riders rounded out the top five, with Robertson in fourth and Dennis Hotson taking fifth. In the 250cc Novice class, the race to the first tum was between Cterling Snow and Chad Jones, and they swapped blue paint all the way down the start straight. Another Yamaha, piloted by Nick Richart, took advantage of their battling and sneaked around them to take the lead coming out of turn one. Yet another blue bike, this one with Brett Cue aboard, was following Richart when his bike stalled in a comer, allowing Cue to move into MAv21.2003· I;: U C I Cox was a n'b"'sbow fdr moto two. Berry nailed the holeshot, with Canard in hot pursuit. Canard made the pass on the back straight on lap one. Berry stayed in second, with Siever following in third. David Wood had a beller moto, putting his Yamaha into fourth place, in front of Jackson. Canard moved into first place in the series with his overall win. With only two races left, the points races are getting close. The next two rounds will be critical. As the temperatures start getting hot· ter, so wil1 the racing! Motorcycle Raceway Midwest City. Reid had to settle for fourth, while Honda rider Nathan Hudson took fifth, Yamaha rider Jim Thomas came away with the first overall points in the Over 40 class. Yamaha rider Steve Dix came out of tum one with the lead in moto one but turned it over to Honda-mounted Scott Morgan by the second tum.
