With the flip of the green flag by Chuck Edgeworth, 28 teams charged the slow left-hand first corner of this 2.3-mile road course in South Carolina. Tray Batey, on the Vesrah Suzuki, led the first lap around this 14-turn track. Team Xtreme Pennzoil II ran fifth and led the Heavyweight Superstock class. At the one-hour mark, Vesrah Suzuki continued to lead the race and the Heavyweight Superbike class. Army of Darkness was second, and Team Xtreme Pennzoil II was third. Team Xtreme Pennzoil I moved into fourth and second in Heavyweight Superbike. Team Info Tech/Valter Moto held fifth, with Team Velocity Racing in sixth. Velocity Crew Racing gained seventh and second in Middleweight Superbike, while BlueMoto/Jeff Wyler ran in eignth and second in Heavyweight Superstock. Team Chicago/Yamaha/Dunlop held ninth, and Ricochet Racing/ Suzukl/ Plrelli had 10th; both of these teams were contesting the Middleweight
