"Unfortunately they didn't. I felt good. It's my best finish this year so far. I wasn't on the pace that those guys were on the first 45 minutes, then I loosened up and started flowing, but I gave up too much in the first half of the race to catch up. I'm happy, though. Sooner or later I'll be on the podium. I rode good the whole race, and my bike is working good. I'll just try to make the podium the next one." David Pearson 6th "I had a pretty good race," David Pearson said. "I started in sixth or seventh and kind of just hung around in there the whole race. Brian Brown 5th "My race went all right; I got a good start for once," Brown said. "I hung with Destry and Russ the first couple of laps, and then I got a little arm-pump and fell back a little. I pitted early and just settled and cruised in for a fifth_" YZ250 over a table-top jump just before the finish line. "My race went really well," Davis said. "I got by Russ and Naughton and kind of pulled away. Then Lance caught up, and he was definitely the fastest out there today. He caught up, and I let him by. I got in behind him and wanted to see where he was making up so much time. He was able to pull me on the long highspeed straights; he'd get four or five bikelengths per straight. I could ride in the rough stuff faster, but it was kind of cat and mouse - I'd reel him in, then he'd pull away; I'd reel him in, then he'd pull away. 1 was hoping he was going to get tired at the end of the race. I was thinking, 'Man, this is going to be a good one at the end of the race.' But then he broke his Brian Brown had an uneventful race. Brown, who is no stranger to the snow, rounded out the top five. BRIEFLY••• The WORCS racers were treated to a brand-new track this year. After last year's race. Carbon County gave the facility a grant to improve the MX track. The Dirt Wurx crew was hired to give the track a major overhaul. and the general consensus was that the changes were indeed a huge improvement. The city of Price has been a strong supporter of the WORCS race.
