Reynolds took full advantage of the DNS's of Carter and Stagner in moto two. He scored the win and the overall as well. Richard also benefited from the no-shows; his 5-2 tally earned second overall. Enterprise, Alabama's Carl Drummond moved up to third after a first-moto sixth and logged third overall. KTM riders claimed the top five places in the 65c( Beginner class, Mickey Norris topped both molos, ahead of Lennon, Michigan's Lucas Lowe. Benjamin Lau edged Jett Johnson by a point for third overall. Joe Neagley went 4-5 for fifth overall. In the first Open Pee Wee moto, D.J. Oakes went inside of Evan Smith for the holeshot. Three riders went down in a heap over a double on lap one. Next. Smith got out of shape in the small whoops, allowing Oakes to ride his KTM to an unchallenged win. Sheldon Seale ran alone in third. Taylor Robbins and Mason Brown put two more KTMs in the top five. In moto two. Oakes, Cobra-mounted Smith, and Seale repeated their firsl~round finishes. Brown moved up a notch, and Florida rider Jordan Asbell picked up fifth. Brad Johnson was the dominant racer in the 65cc (10- 11) and 85cc (10- I I) classes, scoring wins in all four motos. In the 65cc class, John's Fish and Aquarium-backed Justin Woodfin (6-3) bested Lowe (2-4) on a tie breaker for second. In the 85cc class, Kendall Mason (2-2) was second overall, showing the way for several more Suzuki riders. I Husqvama's Jim Neese and Crossroad Powersports/RRP's Damien Plotts won the 125cc and 250cc Pro/Expert majn events, respectively, in front of a sell-out crowd on Saturday night at the Wilkes-Barre round of CCE's Regional Arenacross at the First Union Arena in Wilkes· Barre. Pennsylvania. Neese also earned the runner-up spot on the 250cc Pro/Expert podium and took home a nice chunk of change after winning the fast and furious Dash For Cash. Plotts finished second in the Dash For Cash and fourth in the 125cc Pro/Expert main. The 2002 CCE Regional Arenacross Champion, Jim Chester, and Team Green Kawasaki's Matt Barnes rounded cue I e out the 125 Pro/Expert podium. Kamesports. com's Mike Katin rounded out the 250 Prot Expert podium. CCE's Regionai champ, Chester, led the start of the 125cc Pro/Expert main event. with Ty Wallace, Plotts and Barnes trailing. The top five went unchanged for the next three laps until Plotts made a mistake that allowed Barnes to take fourth. Plotts dropped to fifth. On the next lap, Barnes managed to get around Wallace to claim third. Wallace must have been caught off guard, as Plotts quickly got around to reclaim fourth. Wallace was relegated to fifth. Neese pulled away to about a four-second advantage by the halfway signal of this 12-lap main. Four seconds ain't much, though, on the tight and technical arena cross racecourse. By lap nine, lapped traffic was making things pretty interesting for the top five, but all managed to keep it pretty clean. Neese took the checkers with a 4 1/2-second lead. Rounding out the top five were Chester, Barnes, Plotts and Wallace. Plotts had first gate pick for the 250cc Pro/Expert main and lined up all the way to the inside in anticipation of getting the hoieshot aboard his big Honda thumper. His calculations were correct, as Plotts' Honda was the first bike out of the first tum, ahead of Neese, Wallace, Chester and Kalin. Not much changed for the next five laps except that for some reason lappers were already becoming a factor for the top five, which was a little sooner than they had expected. Plotts bobbled exiting the very long and technical whoop section but managed to keep it on two wheels and remain out front. On the next lap, a lapper went down in the rhythm section, making navigation for the leaders somewhat more difficult, but all of them managed to clear the carnage unscathed.
