-. Open Pro and Pro-Am short· track events were carbon copies, as no one was able to match his pace. Chris Boone followed Hayden through turn one in the Open Pro final and held that spot to the finish. Joel Brown originally sat in third until Rod Hartzel shuffled him back a spot. Coy Matthews and Aaron Ladd were banging their way through from the back ........----- row and wound up in fourth and fift.h, respec· tively, when Brown lowsided out of the race. Justin Hanna swept the 200cc Pro-Am class by winning both heats and mains in the short track and IT. Patrick Pyle followed suit by doing the same in the 200cc Amateur ranks. URlYfUl Bill Agnew continues to get faster weekly; he topped the Trail Rider class in both divi- sions. After a fairly easy IT win, he had to hold off a fast-closing Ross Atwell at the flag 11 . .. - in the short-track contest. Rod Hartzel took the holeshot and won the Over 40 class by a straightaway. A four-rider battle was brewing behind him; Ed Clark held on to second, over John Lewis. Lewis and Clark would go on their own expeditions, as Clark topped the Over 50 class and Lewis topped the Light Vintage class in start-le-finish wins. Ethan Gillim was the dominant SOce rider on the night, winning three out of four of the classes. He had to work past fast-starting Nick McFadden in both 50cc Shaft races to hold on to close wins. In the 50cc Chain class, he slid underneath early leader Jake Lewis to take the short-track win. Jake would return the favor to win the IT. SOMETIMES WHAT PROTECTS YOU THE MOST IS MADE OF PAPER. Frankie Lee Gillim and Hayden Gillim ran up front all night. with Frankie Lee sweeping the 65cc ranks over his brother. Tyler White- cotten held the initial lead in the 65cc short track and seemed to have it on cruise control until he lost the front end and went down. Frankie Lee held off Hayden Gillim to take the win over a fast·c1osing Miles Thorton. Frankie Lee led the IT from the start, as his brother put the pressure on. With a lap to go, Hayden Gillim went down. moving Jake to second, while Whitecotten came to third off the back row. Hayden Gillim came back and kept it on two wheels to sweep the 80cc ranks.
