Graham shared wins at the Indianapolis Mile doubleheader, but Randy
Goss moved into the Grand National Championship points lead... Chuck
Sun went 1-1 and clinched the 500cc Motocross National Championship
at Center Lisle, New York; Mark Barnett won the 125cc class, moving to
within three points of leader Broc Glover in the championship... Darryl
Kuenzer won the Jack Pine National Enduro in Michigan.

the cover of Cycle News 50 years ago. Novice racer Doug Grant was
pictured. The South went on to win both the Novice and Expert divisions...
Gene Romero won his first National of the year at Sedalia, where second-
in-points Dick Mann broke his leg. Jim Rice extended his points lead in the
championship... Rich Thorwaldson out-dueled J.N. Roberts and Whitey
Martino to win the Dusters M.C. hare scrambles in Adelanto, California.
Max Biaggi won the Czech Grand Prix 20 years ago.
