Dubach took over second place on lap three. but by that time Tilley had stretched his lead to eight seconds and was not letting up. Once into second place, Dubach was able to slice into Tilley's lead with each lap until, at the halfway point of the 20·minute contest, he was only two seconds behind the leader, The two front-runners were hanging it out big-time, and as the race entered the closing laps, Dubach was right in Tilley's shadow, Over the course of the last two laps, Dubach made many pass attempts, but Tilley always had an answer and fought back to regain the lead. Just before the start of the last lap, Dubach finally made a move stick. and he forged into the lead aboard his White Brothers/Dr. D/O'Neal Yamaha YZ450F, Tilley did not give in, and when Dubach took the checkered flag for the win, Tilley was only about one bikelength behind him in second. Davis rolled in third. The second moto got off to an interesting start: As Tilley cleared the tight first turn with the holeshot, Dubach was left in the middle of the corner, the victim of a stalled machine. Dubach got his machine fired up, but he had spotted the field a 15·second lead, Out front, Tilley again took off from the pack with a display of speedy riding, Mean· while, Dubach was showing the determination that has made him a multitime Vet World and Four·Stroke World Champion, slicing through riders without mercy. By halfway, Dubach was in second place, about 10 seconds behind Tilley. Dubach continued to close in, and when the two riders took the white flag, they were nearly side by side, Tilley hung tough, and when he came out of the last corner, he kept his bike pinned over the finish-line tabletop to hold off Dubach by half a bikelength for the win. On the day, Tilley's second·moto victory gave him the overall win with an impossible- to·beat 2·1 tally, Dubach (1·2) settled for sec· ond place, while Davis (3·3) finished up in third. Daniel's Ridge Motocross Supermini Win for the Sly Fox Bv MARK NEUENS TAYLORSVILLE, NC, JAN, 12 Cold weather moved in for round seven of the Fall/Winter Series at Daniel's Ridge, Clear Daniel's Ridge Motocross: Tanner Wilson (117) contested the Supermini class at round seven of the FalllWinter Series in Taylorsville. North Carolina. Tyler Fox came out the winner. the first spot. Lafone followed Wilson for a little while and found a place to make the pass for the second spot. Meanwhile, Goforth, trying to make up for his bad start, made the pass on Neuens. Fox was taking off out front, followed by Lafone, Wilson and Bantum. Wilson was putting a tire aside of Lafone, looking to get his spot back, but laps ran out for Wilson and he didn't get around. Fox finished first, followed by Lafone, Wilson, Bantum and Goforth, skies prevailed. so the race went on despite the cold, In the Supermini class, Tanner Wilson took the holeshot, followed by Shay Lafone, Tyler Fox, Dylan Bantum and Thomas Neuens. McCoy Goforth got hung up in the gate but got going quickly and made up time. Fox took the outside jump while Wilson and Lafone took the inside. Fox passed Lafone and came out of the tum side by side with Wilson, Fox made a strong run through the doubles to take Top engine builders and racers like Dan Caulkins.
