Ramada Inn CRC Champions Honored By GREG ROBERTSON PAlJ'\DALE, CA, JAN. 17 A standing·room·only crowd of racers and their families packed the banquet room at the Ramada Inn in Palmdale as the California Racing Club honored its top riders from the 2002 season. Track announcer Don Gossett did his usual outstanding Job as emcee for the evening, tossing out numerous freebies to the crowd on hand, as well as raffling off some much·appredated prizes from many of (RC's sponsors. Gossett also took time out to give credit to those behind the scenes at CRC who make it possible to put on nearly 50 races a year. Numerous industry representatives from the likes of Pro Taper, Tru Tec Suspension and Factory Effex (to name just a few) took to the microphone to thank those on hand for a successful 2002 season and to promise bigger and better things for 2003. Half of the evening was dedicated to honoring those who did well in the recently completed five-race Sponsorship Series. Beautiful plaques were awarded to those who finished in the top three in their class, along with A·, B- and (-level sponsorships for the upcoming season. The other half of the night was devoted to those racers who accumulated enough points throughout 2002 to run with the eRC number- t.!i!JW my ~ 'h1 is perfect for everyone!
