(Right) Ryan Huffman (112) had the starts down pat at Guthrie. looking hole in it, and Johnson's helmet had a crack down the middle. Willoh returned Saturday night with a large bump on his forehead and on the back of his head, but he did not race. Meanwhile, Lawrence, who was leading at the time of the Willoh/ Johnson wreck, did not see the crash or the red flag, and he went down hard trying to avoid the downed riders. Lawrence limped away with an injured knee, but he was declared the winner, since the red-flagged race was not restarted. Lange was credited with second place and Demuth third. The 250cc went much smoother. Travis Hodges nailed the holeshot but dropped back, while Lange, Demuth and Antunez took over the first through third spots. Lange led Demuth and Antunez for 10 straight laps until Demuth cut underneath Lange in a turn and took over the point. From there, Demuth held the reign as he went on to win, followed by Lange and Antunez. SATURDAY Once again, the 125cc class got things going Saturday, and, once again, Ryan Huffman got things started with the holeshot. Demuth again didn't get a good start after going down on the first lap and had to work his way up through the pack. Lange quickly got around Huffman for the lead, while Antunez chased in third. Demuth, meanwhile, continued to pick riders off as he moved up through the pack and eventually got right behind Antunez in fourth. Demuth went after the former champ and eventually got around the Suzuki rider on the last lap when Antunez slid out in a turn. Lange held on to take the win, followed by Huffman, Demuth and Antunez. Hoffmaster, who was among the leaders early in the race, was struck down by mechanical problems and was forced, with the moral support from the fans, to push his bike up the finish line jump. Huffman again put his Yamaha to the front of the pack in the 250cc main, but Lange was the rider of the night, as he quickly took over the lead and held on for the win. Huffman also gave way to Antunez and Demuth, who had a fierce battle to the finish. Antunez managed to keep Demuth at bay, finishing second. It was a good race that saw Demuth try every trick in the book to get around Antunez. "I had a lot of close calls out there, Johnson (Kaw); 9. Jason Thomlls (Kew); 10. After winning Friday's 125cc main, Lawrence was forced to sit out Saturday's racing because of his sore knee. But Lawrence wasn't the only rider left watching from the sidelines before the weekend's racing was over. Evan Laughridge had to call his weekend short with an ankle sprain, as did Chad Johnson. Gavin Grayck withdrew early with a knee injury, while Tom Kelly will be visiting his doctor because of an injured wrist. Brandon Bartz also called it an evening with a tweaked foot. eN lazy EArenl 6uthrie, Okllhoml Resulls: Jlnulry 3-4, 2003 [Round 61 Friday 125 MAIN: I. Phil Lawrence (Yam): 2. Darcy Lange (Kaw): 3.
