man. However, at the checkers, it was Simon's brother Paul Temmerman rounding out the top three after a solid ride. Moto two featured a little drama, as Evan Laughridge made an unexpected appearance. Laughridge, who dominated the event last year and is currently contesting his first National Arenacross Series, showed up just in time to line up for the second moto. Although clad in his own gear. the Factory Suzuki rider had to borrow a bike. as his own were unavailable: Without even a practice lap, Laughridge shot into the first turn wheel to wheel with Brandes. From the looks of lap one. it appeared Brandes may have had a challenger for the win, as Laughridge mirrored his every move. However. Laughridge slowly toned it down, as a few mistakes allowed Brandes a little breathing room. Following up in third was Nye, and despite problems early on, he regained his speed and made the pass on Laughridge on the white-flag lap. Laughridge held on to round out the top three. The 250cc Intermediate class featured close racing in both motos. Gassin went down on the first lap of moto one; Capitol Yamaha's Tony Sherman took advantage after a fourthplace start. Dave Mumma, Damren Luttrell and Carson Meyer kept Sherman honest up front while Gassin recovered and was on a tear. By the white-flag lap, Gassin had made his way up to third, just behind Meyer. Sherman took the win, while Gassin made a lastturn pass for the second spot, ahead of Meyer. Moto two went better for Gassin, as he put his Posey Racing machine out front early on, leaving Sherman to battle for second with Meyer and Danny Harris. Gassin, who has exhibited impressive speed as of late, took a commanding win, while Sherman locked up second on the day, ahead of Meyer. www.motorcycleshows.com • 800-331-5706 THE ADVENTURE NEVER ENDS E Street Track Marysville.
