If' BELTON, SC, NOV. 23 Dwayne Mitchell dominated the 125cc and 250cc B divisions at round one of the Foothills Motorsports Winter MX Series at River's Edge MX. More than 150 entrants, representing at least three states, turned out for the event, which doubled as the grand opening for the track. The day's race was sponsored by Xtreme Custom and Cycles. Jeffrey Sparks grabbed the initial lead in both 250cc B motos, but Mitchell took control on the early laps both times to win the class with a perfect score. Sparks stayed in the hunt but had to settle for a pair of second·place finishes. Tim Myers led briefly during the second moto and netted third overall via his 4·3 tally. over fellow Honda pilot Adam Ballenger. Sparks was sidelined due to mechanical problems very early in the 125cc B contest. Mitchell, therefore, had no serious challengers and won both motos easily. Kyle Bridges' pair of thirds was good for the silver. Josh Mulligan recovered from a spill in the first moto to finish 5-2, netting the bronze. Jake Allen was a one· man show in the I 25cc C contest, leading each moto from start to finish aboard his Foothills/Michelin/ Fox/Smith-backed Honda. Jacob Thomason came from behind in both motos and finished second each time, ahead of fellow Yamaha rider Ross Epstein. Allen retumed in the 250cc C division and was never headed en route to a perfect score. The close battle for runner· up honors was decided during the final moto in a winner· take-all, last·lap dice between Travis Owens and Jacob Thomason. Owens held on to second and netted the silver in a points tie via his 3·2 score over Thomason's 2·3 finishes. Logan Bell was the star of the Mini ranks, posting high· speed, runaway wins in all four motos of the 80cc Senior Mini and 100cc Supermini divisions aboard his Upstate Graph· ics/Michelin/Foothills-backed Suzuki. In both the Junior Mini and Preteen class· es, Nathan Bolt was the man to beat. Bolt's LICEIlIL • PlAYfTlW'E.l£All'«lUR OWNER'S _ _ AND ~ YOIlIt IllICIt - . eo.. InC.l12lIllI DIESS FCIllHE AIlE.
