took the holeshot, closely followed by Renauroo By the end of the first lap, the two Yamaha
riders had put a small gap between themselves and the battle for third between T.J.
Lorenz from Ukiah, California, and Bonnie
Lake, Washington's Tevln Tapia. On lap two,
Renauro moved SWiftly into the lead, but
Lorenz disappeared from the group of frontrunners. Tapia. now in third, played catch-up
to Locks. Austin Howell from Red Bluff. California, was a few turns back in fourth. Lorenz
would eventually reappear behind Renauro but
a lap down from the leader. For the next couple of laps, Tapia pressured "The Snake" until
he came "un-Locked." The DeMarini rider
from Washington State got by and appeared
to have second place in the bag on the whiteflag lap until the last tum before the checkered
flag, when he missed a shift - and Locks was
coiled to strike: The fin81 order after Renauro
was Locks, Tapia and Howell.
Trophies also went to Northern California
riders Danny Robik and Robert Noltz, who
finished fifth and sixth; Benjamin Keel, who
was seventh; and Dustin Peterson, who placed
eighth.
In the 125cc C class, Kawasaki jockey
Taylor Edwards edged out Jones. Shawn
Gatlin "Yamaha'd" his way to third with the
four-stroke that won the 125cc Pro class.
That 125cc Pro class was, as expected, a
wide-open slugfest, with all the top guys beating and banging to get every shot they could
at the money. Chad Ward (also known as "Mr.
Holeshot") didn't want to get too much roost
on his number plates, so he led both starts.
Ward won the first moto, but Clark Styles, on
a borrowed YZ250F, swapped positions with
him in the second moto for the overall. Both
front-runners were on four-strokes, which
seem to like the moist conditions. Shane
Lusk's Honda was the first two-stroke, and he
wound up third.
The 250cc Pro class was also hot. Ward
kept up the holeshot program from the previous class but fell to fourth at the end. Jon
Boruff, on a Honda 450, ran away and hid in
the first moto, but Styles kept him honest
toward the end. Stiles won the last moto to
seal the overall win. Lusk's Honda was funning strong, and he's no lightweight, but the
four-strokes ruled the day. Lusk finished third
but dashed to second in the last moto after

Ward stalled.
A great day of rocing was had by all, and
the ambulance didn't roll all day. The track
crew worked hard to keep the mud at bay.
The money was good, and there were prizes
all day. It was an excellent beginning for a
new track.

Mud vs. Money.
Money Wins.

CHATTANOOGA, TN, NOV. 17
This weekend proved to all that mud doesn't
matter if the pay window is open.
Chattanooga Motocross Park hosted the
second race of the Georgill·Tennessee Series,
despite two days of rain. The track had been
made longer for this weekend of racing, but
the rain m2lde it difficult. Nevertheless, the
racing was awesome. The promoter and his
crew had the track ready by race time, not
losing sight of the riders' needs and safety.
The smaller bikes ran a shorter course due
to the conditions. and the 50cc classes were
shortened to one moto. This was good for the
riders, and especially good for the parents
who did a lot of running to keep their riders up
and going. The KTM crowd of Landon Gentry.
Jake Elder and Donny Brown topped the OilInjected class. The 50cc (4-6) class featured
another podium dominated by KTMs. Brown,
Gentry and Brady Moreland ended up the
fastest in the orange crush. Blake Sellers put
his Kawasaki on top in the 50cc (7-8) class,
with Hunter Roberts and Austin Elder upholding the KTM honor.
In the Schoolboy/Youth contest, Honda
rider Dustin Jones dominated the competition
with two molo wins. Kawasaki pilot Richie
Gibson edged out Honda ace Jonathan Eller
for the last podium spot.
