Joe Nosek scored the moto-one holeshot. but Richard Poplawski moved into first immediately. Hazarda moved into second by the end of lap one and then passed Poplawski and checked out for the moto win. Poplawski. Tom McShane and Nosek battled for second. with Poplawski getting the edge. Poplawski took the molo-two holeshot. followed by Scott Miller. Again. Hazarda worked his way up and passed Poplawski on lap two for the lead. Hazarda cruised to the win; Poplawski finished second, and Miller edged out Nosek for third. Matt Mellot took the 250cc B win. In moto one. Mellot was out front until Charlie Hermayer took over the lead on the last lap. Mellot stayed right on Hermayer's back tire and made a last·minute charge before the finish line. The two crossed the checkers side by side, with Hermayer getting the nod. In moto two, Mellot moved into the early lead. C.J. Lindle and Hermayer fought for second until they came together and Hermayer went down and pulled off the track. Mellot picked up the moto and overall win, with Lindie taking second. Jonas Morgan used consistency to win the Schoolboy class with 2-2 finishes. In moto one, Jeremiah Johnson led from start to fin· ish. Morgan was all over Johnson. trying all different lines and looking to make a pass, but he couldn't make it stick. Behind them, Ryan Rogerson put the moves on Jason Donegan to take third. In moto two, Donegan rocketed out of the gate to take the holeshot in the windy rain and never looked back. Johnson and Morgan battled again. but this time Morgan found room to pass into second to secure the overall win. ~ Cl z iii :::> « i:; ~ Dixie MX: Ryan Cochran won the Open Pee Wee class and placed second in the Pee Wee (4-6) class in Ozark, Alabama. KX125 wasn't strong enough to catch the leader's four-stroke. Drummond lost contact with the top two and finished third. In the first Youth (12-15) moto. Jody Cook proved he's a threat to win any time he's on the track. He put his Ward's Yamaha YZ85 up against the 250s of Waldner and George Gass and scored the win. Waldner placed second. ahead of Gass. The big bikes were too much for Cook in race two. Riding in his sixth moto of the night, the best he could do was keep his machine on the same straight as Waldner and Gass and hope for a mistake. Riding up front, Waldner held firm under intense pressure from Gass and took the mota and overall wins. Honda/Yamaha of Montgomery/Pro Action/MotoSport Solutions-backed Darryl Heisler posted his fourth win in a row in the 250cc/Open Money class. Davy Duprel put his Honda 450 out front in the first moto. Heisler immediately went past but then took a rare fall. Duprel reclaimed the lead, with Mike Quagliaroli also passing Heisler. Duprel went on to take the checkers first. Heisler retook second, with Quagliaroli shadowing him to the finish. Cole Reese placed fourth. Heisler pulled a great holeshot in heat two. ahead of Dupre!. Reese overtook Duprel for second. Still with a shot at the overall, Duprel cut under Reese and began to close on Heisler. Reese rode out a front-wheel landing when he came up short on a small double but then drifted back. Heisler stayed out front. hooking up for a power wheelie down a long straight on his YZ250. Duprel finished one second back at the flag. Reese held third, ahead of Quagliaroli. who suffered from fogged goggles. Nick Seritelli picked up his second consecutive win in 125cc D competition. In moto one, he used an inside line to overcome the holeshot start of Alex McGinnis. Seritelli grabbed the win on his CR125. McGinnis held off a closing Jeremy Richard for second. 'Blake Dunn showed the way in moto two until Seritelli forced his way past. Dunn raced for second with Brandon Jones, Richard and McGinnis. Jones broke away and guided his YZ250F to second, behind Seritelli. A 3-3 tally gave Richard second overall. Results P/W: 1. Drew Burgess (yam); 2. Tyler Scott (Yam). 50 JR: I.
