East Bend Speedway: Edward Humphrey (10) placed second overall in the 125cc B class at the second round of the Fall Outlaw MX Series in East Bend, North Carolina. (7 -II) portion, followed by Barrett in second and Wyatt Arndt in third. In 125cc Band C action, Isaiah Talbert took the holeshot, followed by Cliff Cobb and Edward Humphrey. Humphrey went right to work on Cobb, shoWing him a tire at every ning all four of his motos in convincing style. Yamaha of San Antonio/JM Racing/5-Magics MX-backed Waylon McCulloch did his best to hang with Voss in the 125cc Expert contest but couldn't hold his pace. McCulloch finished out the race with a 3-2 score, giving him second overall on the day. Local rider Cole Brown had a great first mota, taking second lifter battling with Voss, McCulloch, Todd Downs and rookie Ian Matthews. Brown, backed by KTM of San Antonio, looked like he would finish in the top three, but a seventh-place finish in moto two kept him off the podium. Big man Todd "D-Day" Downs was riding a Cycle Country-backed Yamaha YZ250F and came from behind in both his 125cc Expert motos for third overall on a 5-3 tally. Downs, also sponsored by Maxxis, Spy, GTDNP Racing Fuels, Maxima and Answer, had to work extra-hard due to his size and weight. Alamo Cycle Plex/Wide Open Racing-backed Matthews finished fourth overall on a 4-4 score, with Brown rounding out the top five. When the gate dropped for the first 250cc Expert moto, Voss pulled a perfect holeshot and set a superfast pace, followed by Brown, David Tamow, Brandon Beabout and Downs. Once again, Brown looked superfast in the first mota, chasing Voss and almost keeping pace on his KTM 520. Brown finished a respectable second in mota one but did not finish the second moto. Joe Harrison Motorsports/Fly/EVS/Fetish Clothing/FMF-backed Beabout overC8me two bad starts to finish third overall on a 3-3 score after a heated battle with Downs over second in the second mota. Beabout was having some problems with his rear brake on his CRF450R despite installing new brake pads between motos. After running in second place for most of the second moto, Beabout finally fell victim to Downs, who muscled his RM250 around Beabout's Honda. D-Day finished out the day with a 4-2 score for second overall, while Tamow finished fourth overall on a 6-4 tally. New Braunfels Honda/Scott/Thor-sponsored Dustin Cantrell of Briarcliff, Texas, rounded out the top five on a 7-6 score. Yamaha of San Antonio/MSR/Silkolenebacked Derek Howerton had a fantastic day, taking class victories in both the 60cc Senior and 60cc Open classes. The young "Rhinestone Cowboy" owned every single lap, posting a perfect 1-1 score in each division. Mexico's Daniel Barros kept Howerton honest in the 60cc Senior class, finishing a close second, and McAllen's Christian Besada did the same in the 60cc Open class. opportunity. Lucas Bauer came up behind Humphrey and Cobb. Humphrey made the pass on Cobb in the comer, and then Bauer went after Cobb. Bauer took over the third position while Drew Fleming came under Cobb to take fourth. Talbert took off, leaving Humphrey a distant second. Ryan Lauten worked past Cobb and Fleming to battle BlIuer for third. Lauten went into the whoop section side by side with Bauer and made the pass for the third position. Lauten quickly went to work on Humphrey; he was putting a tire under Humphrey every chance he got. Lauten stretched out on a jump past Humphrey to take second place at the white flag. Lauten held off Humphrey for the second position. After the second moto was done, Talbert went to an easy first in the 125cc B class, followed by Humphrey, who overtook Lauten in the second moto for second overall. Lauten was third.
