Chris Klinefelter and Shawn Baer to claim the 600cc A and Sportsman finals. Since the race was rescheduled from a rainout two weeks before, rider turnout was down from what the season average has been. Wood went right up to the edge of the groove in the 600cc A final and pulled away from Winsett, Klinefelter and Baer. During the closing laps, Klinefelter was pounding away at Winsett, trying in vain to get around him. The Sportsman final was a rerun of the 600cc A final, with the addition of 250cc A winner John Lewis. Wood was first off, with Klinefelter, Baer and Winsett behind. Winsett took second at the start of the second lap, but for most of the race the riders stayed about an equal distance apart. In the late laps, Lewis started pressuring Baer for fourth, and took it off the fourth tum on the final lap. Brett Pugh looked like he might fmally win the 65cc class, as he gated first, ahead of Tyler Kidwell, Derek Hersh, Cassidy Heiser and Kyle Schlimme. Pugh and Kidwell put several lengths on the others. The same see· naria has happened several times this season, with Pugh usually falling, quite often before halfway. This time they took the "two to go" signal with Pugh still a few lengths in front of Kidwell - but coming off the fourth tum to take the white flag, Pugh slid out again. The race was red-fiagged and called complete. While there were only three riders in the 50cc (7 -B) class, they had a better race than many of the larger classes. Schlimme took the lead from Tyler Haas and Zachary Islett. Haas took the lead on lap two and looked like a sure winner, but Islett found a rhythm up high just past halfway and started closing the margin. He got by Schlimme for second on the final lap and sliced Haas' margin to almost nothing by the checkers, but he ran out of time. New Yorker Gary Conklin topped the combined 600cc BIOver 30 final, and also easily outdistanced the 250cc B field. Matthew Young topped the 125cc class. Austin Greenland easily took the B5 (7-11) win, over Brett Pugh and Brandon Robinson, while Joey Parks led from the outset over R.J. Hart to take the B5cc (12-15) win. After doing his "traditional" get-off in practice, John Winsett Sr. returned to take the Over 40 final, using his normal edge of the groove line. He took the lead from David Smith at the end of lap one. Smith drifted back to fourth while Joe Dohm and Mike Keane battled for second, which went to Keane. Damian Kocovinos topped the Over 30 group, while John Lewis easily topped the 250cc A class over Kocovinos and Mike Brabson. Results 50 OIL·INJ: 1. Zachary lslett (Yam); 2. They were followed by Brandon White, Trevor Barrett and Tony Thompson. Dobson, Beasley and White pulled away from the rest of the pack, and Beasley was working hard on Dobson, but Dobson was riding smart and protecting his corners. Thompson was trying to make the pass on Barrett but couldn't make a hole to go through. Barrett picked up the pace, but Thompson was making up time in other places. Dobson held off Beasley to take first, followed by White and Barrett. Beasley got in front in the second moto and held on to take first and first overall, followed by Dobson.
