•... . .... _: -1•• . . . .R.I~ - .I.~."'-II- Ricke Happenings In Motorcycling Walks The Walk Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. and Muzzy's Kawasaki factory drag racer Rickey Gadson recently participated in Macy's Department Stores Passport 20/02 fund-raising event. There's no doubt that Gadson stole the spotlight when he rode the Swarovski crystal· encrusted Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R down the runway during the Iceberg fashion segment. Kawasaki donated the one-of-akind Ninja - which was created by New York city-based designer Leeora Catalan of NOIR - to be auctioned at the Los Angeles event. The Ninja by Noir has also appeared in People, Vogue, Vibe, and USA Today, among other pubIlcations, and was also featured on the VH l/Vogue Video Fashion Awards, and in promotions for Mariah Carey's movie, Glitter. The auctions, held in both San Francisco and Los Angeles, raised a total of $147,700 for HIV/AIDS research, prevention, treatment, and care. The winning bidder on the Ninja by Nair was track and field superstar athlete Marion Jones. Jones won five medals in the 2000 Olympic Games In Sydney, and in the late 1990s was called "the fastest woman on the planet.
