Mike McCarron rebounded from a first-lap fall to finish fourth. ahead of Andrew Dickie and Brendan McConnachie. McCarron was quickest out of the gate in moto two but went down in the second tum, handing the top three positions to Pierce. Hearns and Maness. Within a lap. Maness got around Hearns for second place and was soon all over Pierce's back fender. Pierce and Maness battled over the top spot for the next four laps, while McCarron, who just may have been the fastest rider on the track. came back from his first·lap mishap to make it a threeway battle on the last lap. McCarron's shot at the lead ended with another soil sample. while Pierce held off a determined Maness for the well-deserved overall win on the night. Third overall went to Hearns on 3-3 rides, followed by McConnachie (6·4) and Dickie (5-5). Daniel Hendrix collected the first 125cc Novice moto win after a moto-Iong pestering from fellow Honda rider Matt Simpson. Kaulin Boggio was some 10 seconds off the pace of the dueling front-runners in third, with Ricky Barger and Travis Taylor rounding out the top five. Simpson and Hendrix traded places in moto two, with Hendrix dogging Simpson up until the fourth lap. when he lost his front end in a soft tum and went down. Simpson continued on to take the victory with a huge lead. Boggio finished second in the mota but ended up third in the final standings. behind the 1-3 of Hendrix. -r ,..,.
