BISHOP, CA, AUG. 10
The second race in the Golden State Cycle
Series in Bishop, California, was packed with
great racing action for both the racers and the
spectators. The races of the night were the
aocc Intermediate and aocc Junior contests.
Drew Gosselaar (brother of AMA 125cc
Pro rider Chris Gosselaar) and local rider
Casey Logan put on a show, battling throughout the whole race. Both Logan and Gosselaar
were way out in front of the BOcc Intermediate
pack, easily clearing the triple with major air.
in the first mota, Gosselaar took the holeshot
and kept the lead throughout the race. Logan
was not far behind him, continually trying different lines to get by him. In the second mota,
Logan took the holeshot, and the battie for
first went back and forth until Gosselaar took
a line that was just a bit faster than Logan's,
and he took the hardware for the night.
The aocc Junior class featured another
exciting race. Locals Justin PoweJl and Chris
Hoodman, along with Jared Brown, battied
back and forth throughout both motos. Hoodman ended up taking first for the night.
In a combined 60/aOcc feature, Mounts
won the 60cc part, while Joey Ratz led Tyler
Allen and Adam Carpenter across the line to
win the aocc part.
Tim Humphries and Tyler Sheppard
were the class of the 100cc feature, building
up a huge lead in their battle for first place.
Humphries prevailed over Sheppard,
Aaron Brown, Gina Ward, Scott Hasty and
Cody Agee.
Joey Britton and Ratz waged a war for
first place in the 125cc feature, with Britton
coming out on top. Ratz took second, ahead
of Tyier Ailen, Keith Maggard and Adam
Carpenter.
Sheppard took the 250cc feature, over Joe
Britton Sr.• Jamie Deiner and Jamey Carter.
Jim Lee puiled off when his Bultaco decided
to take a break.
The Combo feature went to Behrle, though
Mike Butler made him earn his win. Butler got
the holeshot and led for a couple of laps
before Behrle got by Butler on the front
stretch. For the rest of the race, Butler put
pressure on Behrle, but he had to settle for
second place, ahead of Sam Lowe, Joei
Brown and the rest of the pack.
Herschel Benkert won a pair of Speedway
races, over Tommy Hennsler, Morgan Hendricks and Joe Garrison.
