Steven Colson earned the hard-fought 250cc
Intermediate first-mota win and then backed it
up with a close third-place finish in mota two
to sew up the class overall at Los Angeles
County Raceway, during the Nationwide
Cycle-sponsored round of California Racing
Club's Saturday night motocross.
Nicholas Burson emerged with the firstmoto holeshot, over Neil Chisholm, Colson,
Bobby Steffan and the rest of the pack. Within
a lap, Burson and Colson were arguing over
the lead, with C.J. Mahon joining the duo a lap
later. Colson and his Moto XXX/HSYIO'Neal.
sponsored YZ250 were running out front by
the midway point, with Mahon displacing
Burson back to third at around the same time.

Suzuki's Michael Blose swept the Pro
classes In Phoenix, Arizona.
Colson held off a determined Mahon to take
the win by a couple of bikelengths. Burson
was just a couple of second back for
third, ahead of Justin Eide, Chisholm and
Bryon Ward.
Mahon put the lone Suzuki into the point
position at the drop of the gate in moto two to
lead Steffan, Eide and Burson. Mahon was
under tremendous pressure from Eide and
