Starwest Motocross Park: Mike Meade was a double-class winner Saturday night at the new Starwest in Moreno Valley, California. Los Angeles County Raceway: Mike Garcia (20) leads eventual winner Evan Wilhelm (447) and the rest of the 125cc Beginner class in second-moto action in Palmdale, California. kept David Robertson at bay throughout the mota for third, with Jesse Drake rounding out the top five. Drake ran out front in mota two for a lap before being dropped to third by both Barger and Galan. Gatan made it to the head of the pack at the midway point. only to lose his front end in a berm and drop back to fifth before gelling restarted. Barger inherited a lead that would last a couple of circuits of the J.B. Memorial track before he. too, bobbled his way back to fifth place. Gee suddenly found himself in the lead. with Robertson hounding him relentlessly. Robertson was all over Gee, with Gee prevailing by a couple of bikelengths to sew up the overall on a 3-1 score. JUNE 29 AC Racing-backed Mike Meade was unstoppable in the Supermini and 85cc Novice classes Saturday night at Starwest. In the first moto of the 85cc Novice class, Meade nailed the holeshot, followed closely by Chris Garcia. Meade was able to gain some breathing room on Garcia while the battle for third was heating up between Ryan Rowell and Nick Paluzzi. Garcia went down in a turn, allOWing Rowell and Paluzzi to get by. The white flag came out for Meade, and Paluzzi made his pass on Rowell through the whoop section to take over second. Meade took the win, followed by Paluzzi and Rowell. In the second moto, Meade again absconded with the holeshot, followed by Rowell and Garcia. Meade was gone. and Rowell and Garcia battled for second. Garcia made several pass attempts to try to take over the secondplace position, but Rowell was not budging. Meade took the win. followed by Rowell and Garcia. In 125cc Beginner action, Max Vanderwater took two moto wins for the overall. Vanderwater took the first-moto holeshot, followed by Anthony Garcia and Jared Meadows. Vanderwater was setting a fast pace while Garcia had a strong second. and the battle for third began early for Meadows and Brian Broughton. Meadows found himself under fire. with Brian Broughton on his back fender. Lap after lap, Broughton applied the pressure but could not find his way around. Garcia gave them both a break when he fell in the tum and allowed Meadows and Broughton to get by. The checkered flag came out and Vanderwater took the win. followed by Garcia and Meadows. In the second moto, Vanderwater repeated his holeshot, followed by Meadows and Garcia. Then Garcia found himself in trouble quickly, as B.1. Alarcon was moving up to make a pass. Alarcon was able to get by Garcia for the third-place position. Vanderwater took the win, followed by Meadows and Alarcon. Starwest has recently undergone some ownership changes, and new track promoter Carl Sjostrom showed his excitement about the new Starwest by holding a drawing at the end of the night and giving away a BMX bike and a mountain bike, along with lots of other prizes. When the final series ends, an FMF Honda and two Honda Z50s will be given away. Results Isanti County Fairgrounds: Mark Hili (15) used an inside pass on his brother Steve Hill (14) to win the Open A final at the DTRA flat-track races in Cambridge, Minnesota. n e _ s SmaU Track 50 STRTR: I.
