The Yamaha- and Polinimounted Hill brothers each scored doubleclass decimations during the second of two days of racing, with younger Justin posting the Pee Wee (7-8) and 50cc Open-class wins. Josh Hill dominated the 85cc (12-13) and Supermini classes on both days, winning every moto he entered. Suzuki-mounted brothers Ben and Blake Anglen were Josh's closest competition all weekend long, snaring the second- and third-place laurels in both classes. While Josh was among the weekend's fastest and most successful riders, Suzuki rider Tiger Lacey was clearly the fastest. Lacey, who this year finished the National Arenacross Series as the number-17 -ranked rider, decimated the competition for a pair of overall wins on Saturday. Lacey, from Wolf Creek, Oregon, won the 125cc and 250cc Pro classes to join Josh Hill, Tanner Berry, Ryan Huege, Colin Baker and Ed Smith as two- AMA's road racers are buffing up before they slip out of their leathers to strut their stuff in pursuit of the second most prestigious title in motorcycling, the inaugural Pit Daddy beauty pageant. Huege, winner of the 125cc and Before The Hill Intermediate classes, was Lacey's closest competitor in the combined 125cc Pro/Intermediate contest, trailing Lacey by seven seconds in the first mota. Lacey grabbed the lead in both motos from the getgo and remained there to the finish in each. Huege used I-I tallies to top the Intermediate portion, while local KTM rider Pete Sannan (2-2) and Californian Tony Sherman (3-3) rounded out the top three. Josh Hill, a three-class contestant on the day, rode his big-wheeled YZ in the 125cc Intermediate class and, while riding in "exhibi· tion" status, finished behind Sannan in moto one and trailed Huege in mota two, showing just how fast this kid really isl Lacey also leveled the competition in the combined 250cc Pro/Junior contest, lapping up to second place in the process of snaring his second of two overall wins. The American Suzuki/Maxxis-backed 19-year-old left Kawasaki rider Eric Roth well behind, this time enjoying as much as a 32-second lead on his closest competitor. Roth, making a comeback after an injury-induced layoff, fin- ished ahead of Jeremy McLain, Jake Sannan and Ben Sannan, who were the top three 250cc Junior riders.
