CMC Skagit Powersports Pac West Nationals Round 4: Horn Rapids ORV Park STORV AND PHOTOS BV CLAV liGHT WEST RICHLAND, WA, JUNE 23 ;'Jl pair of large, yellow objects W caused quite a stir at round four of the CMC Skagit Powers ports Nationals, held at Horn Rapids ORV Park, but, though it was a flying object, it wasn't a wasp. Rather, it was Suzuki-mounted Cole Siebler, who was superb while taking his 125cc and 250cc Intermediate-class overall wins, using 1-1 tallies to sting the competition and stand among the elite few double-class winners on the day. Emmett, Idaho's Siebler was for the second consecutive round again too much for the competition, winning with large leads on the fields of riders in the 125cc and 250cc Intermediate classes. Yamaha-mounted Washingtonian David Rose was the rider closest to Siebler in the first 125cc mota, and he finished second overall via 2-3 placings. Things went awry for Siebler while leading mota two, as the RM jockey crashed and had to come from half a lap back before taking his win; Siebler overtook Suzuki rider Heath Robertson with two turns remaining to win moto two. Honda rider Tyson Blood netted third overall. It was pretty much the same story in the 250cc Intermediate class, as Idaho's Cole Siebler was a two-class winner for the second consecutive round of the CMC Skagit Powersports Pac West Nationals in West Richland, Washington, posting victories In the 125cc and 250cc Intermediate classes. Vancouver resident couldn't duplicate his perfect four-far-four tally he'd posted at round three. McCormick aced both 125cc Pro-class motos to lead Oregon's Ryan Huffman and local rider Dan Moore atop the rostrum. The best Pro motos of the day were the two 125cc motos. The faststarting Huffman snared holeshots in both, but McCormick reeled in the Yamaha YZ250F-mounted Huffman in each outing. Huffman stayed out front the longest in moto two, but in the end, McCormick prevailed. Moore finished third in both motos, while Corder (4-4) and Terlecki (6-6) filled out the top five. Huffman became the only rider all weekend to derail the McCormick juggernaut by winning the second 250cc Pro moto. However, Huffman's third-place first-mota finish dropped Jason McCormick topped the 125cc and 250cc Pro classes at Hom Rapids ORV Park. Siebler bolted to the head of the field in the first mota and then put large ground on Honda pilot Tyler Meyer. Western Washington rider Daniel Krick put Siebler in check in moto two and finished second to the Idaho speedster and, despite a sixth-place finish in the first moto, snared second overall. Blood, riding a Honda CRF450R, used consistent 4-4 placings to nab third overall, ahead of Meyer (2-7) and Chad Jones (5-6). Another of the brigade of yellowclad dominators was Washington's Jason McCormick. The National number 76 plate holder was for the second consecutive round the top performer in the 125cc and 250cc Professional classes, although the the rider from Roseburg to second overall, as McCormick finished 1-2 to again top the podium. Moore, a fourclass contestant on the day, finished third overall, but his best performances came in the Vet Pro class, where he placed first, and in the Over 25 Pro class, where he trailed Arizona's Ted Campbell overall. Campbell, who made the trek north from Apache Junction, Arizona, put a stop to the dominant Moore in the Over 25 Pro class after exchanging moto wins with the local rider. Moore got the best of Campbell in the first moto, but Campbell had an answer for Moore in moto two and snared a win in the moto, and overall as well. Moore (1-2) finished second overall, followed by the consistent Tony Graves (3-3), Brett Boehem (5-4) and Washington's Travis Gage (4-5). That was about the best the day would get for Campbell, who at the previous round finished third overall in the 250cc Pro class, as he struggled through both 250cc Pro motos and went 8-6. McCormick and Huffman shared dominance in both motos, splitting the aforementioned moto wins. Moore trailed McCormick in the first moto to finish second, ahead of Yamaha-mounted Huffman, Honda CRF450R rider Graves, and Kawasaki jockey Mike Corder. Huffman, who was the dominant rider at the opening rounds of the series, joined the slim list of Pro-class winners thus far after winning the second 250cc Pro moto, handing McCormick his only loss of the weekend. McCormick, though, netted the overall win by virtue of his 1-2 placings, followed by Huffman (1-3). The consistent Moore finished third (2-3), while Graves (4-5) and National number 97, Ryan Terlecki, who posted his best performance in moto two with a fourth-place finish after poor starts, filled out the top five overall. KTM rider Tony Boughten and Suzuki-mounted Ricky Dietrich went head to head in both the 125cc and Before The Hill Junior classes, but in the end it was a draw. Boughten won three of the four motos, although Dietrich topped the second 125cc Junior moto to garner the overall win. Boughten (1-2) finished second, followed by Idaho's Ryan Dunn (3-4). Boughten put his KTM out front for keeps in both Before The Hill Junior motos, where he snared the overall win, ahead of Dietrich (2-2) and Darin Kapalo (3-3). eN Rose (KTM); 3.
