Lincoln Trail Motosports Park A Brand-New Old· Bikes Event In the Premier SOOcc Intermediate MX class. Steve Kuykendall rode his dad's freshly restored B34 BSA, and in the early going he led a pack of big BSA singles. Unfortunately, Kuykendall let the big Beeser slap him down on lap two, forfeiting the lead and feeling the 7/26/2002 5:00AM MotoWorld (A) ESPN2 pain of his tumble. Within the various MX Expert classes, there were three riders that tried to do it all. 7/27/2002 12:00 PM AMA National Motocross ~ 250Cc . Given the girth and weight of the machines they rode. these three men were given the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd. In anticipation of the success of the Premier/Classic format, a western round of the Works Performance Premier/Classic Trials [, Motocross is planned at The Fann in Chehalis, By RON WINGET mance Premier/Classic Trials 5 Motocross." This event was the brainchild of Dick Mann, AHRMA trustee and Grand National Champi- on. MannIs intent was to offer opportunities to trials and motocross bikes manufactured in the 1950s and '60s - machines that are often heavy and have limited ground clearance. There have always been classes for Pre- mier and Classic-era motorcycles at AHRMA events, but the terrain is usually more suited to the later and more-common Sportsman-era bikes of the 1970s. The Premier/Classic for- mat has become a standard in England, where heavyweight BSA, Triumph, Royal Enfield, AJS, Velocette. Monarch and Eso were born. Perhaps it will take hold on this side of the pond as well, keeping these old classics in the dirt and out of the parlor. 7/28/2002 1:00 PM FIM World Superbike - Brands Hatch - Aace 1 (SOD) Speed 7/28/2002 2:00 PM FIM World Superbike - Brands Hatch - Aace 2 (SOD) Speed AMA Superbike - Mid-Ohio - Day 2 (Live) Speed 7/28/2002 3:00 PM 7/29/2002 10:00 AM Legends of Motosport - Three Wheels at Mallory Speed 7/30/2002 12:00 AM Bike Week - Dave Despain, host Speed Motorcyclist Speed AMA Superbike - Mid-Ohio - Day 1 Speed 2:00AM AMA Superbike - Mid-Ohio - Day 2 Speed 3:00AM AMA 600 Supersport - Mid-Ohio Speed Legends of Motorsport - Spa 1982 Speed 7/30/2002 12:30AM Washington, on September 21 and 22.
