the line after a poor start, but he caught and
passed Pfeifer on the front straight to start lap
two of the 12-lap race. Vincent Haskovec was
suddenly all over Pfeifer's rear tire at the
beginning of lap three, and he powered around
him on the outside of turn two, moving
Haskovec into third. Meanwhile, Graves draft-
ed and passed Toye a lap later to take over
the lead.
For the next seven laps, Toye and Graves
fought for the lead, with the two racers
exchanging the top spot many times. Toye
showed an advantage in the tighter comers of
the track while Graves seemed to have a
horsepower advantage on the front and back
straight and around the fast tum-eight sweeper.
