DON'T JUST WHINE ABOUT IT••• WRITE ABOUT 'Tl By EDDIE GRAVEUNE SAUNAS, CA, JUNE 8 The California Motocross Association promotes races all over central California, but the vast majority of them take place in the San Joaquin Valley, which is a couple of hours inland from the Pacific Ocean. Summers in the valley are hot - very hot. By May, the temperatures reach triple digits, and there's usually no relief until October. Amazingly, the motocross community stays very active during the long, hot summers. The folks involved are decticated, and the heat is just considered part of life. Don't think for a second, though, that when given the chance, valley residents don't flock to cooler temps. When the CMA announced they'd be holding a race in Salinas If you don't see local coverage in Cycle News of events in your area, you can help by becoming a Cycle News contributor.
