Trials in Sequatchie, Tennessee, July 67. On Saturday, Crossett took the win
over Geoff Aaron (GG) and Ryon
Bell (Mon), and on Sunday, Crossett
took top honors again, this time over
Bell and Aaron.

Brian Garrahan (KTM) scored the
overall win at the AMA National Hare
Scrambles in Elkton, Oregon, on July 7.
Second place went to Fred Andrews
(Kaw), followed by Rob Zimmerman,
Craig Wesner (Kaw) and Brian
Sperle (KTM).

and Arrowhead Motor Speedway, has announced a new AMA
National Speedway Championship Series,
The 2002 AMA National Speedway Championship - historically a
season-ending, one-day event - will now be run over three pointspaying rounds, with two events held in August, and the series finale
in September.
The series opener is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, at
Arrowhead Motor Speedway, located at the Orange Show Fairgrounds in San Bernardino, Califomia, with round two set for Friday,
August 16, at Fast Fridays Speedway on the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, California. The series finale will also be hosted at
Fast Fridays, which for several seasons has hosted the AMA's premier speedway event.
"We are delighted to be working with two premier speedway
venues to launch this exciting new series," said AMA Vice President
Bill Amick. "The traditional sudden-death format is undeniably exciting, but the series format will be fairer to the riders and also allow us
to showcase their talents in the sport's premier markets of Northem
and Southem Califomia. There have been many discussions for the
past several years about launching this series. We'll kick it off this
season in San Bernardino and Auburn in cooperation with two excel-
lead drastically reduced at the Knockhill
round of the series in Scotland on July
