holeshot. This time, though, Schmidt got through the first tum unscathed and took over the lead half a lap later and never looked back, Eric Espe, who got caught up in the first-mota pile-up (finishing 10th), doubled over Dallman on the big Ride Sports double for second and tried to put the business to Schmidt, but Schmidt took another overall. Pacific Northwest Championship Series Race Dates 2002 General Information Carolyn (541) 673-1671 Posusta also overtook Dallman in the second moto but was unable to catch Espe. settling for runner· up. Dallman's strong rides earned him the final podium spot, A pair of consistent fifth-place finishes left Kline in fourth overall, while Espe's valiant rides could only muster fifth overall. With all the past state champions competing in the Over 25 A class, the action mimicked the little guys. Pat Donaho put his Honda CRF450R out front at the start of mota one with his power-to-weight-ratio advantage, but Cory Keeney, on his Pro Action of Minnesota/Cannon Powersports RM250, quickly took over the lead and began to show the boys the fast way around the track. Meanwhile, Mike Atkinson, on his Trackside Performance/Moose Lake Implement CR250, pressured Donaho like in the days of old. Donaho appeared to have trouble on the second lap, as he overshot the jump out into the field and looked down repeatedly at his left foot. "I tried to slow down, but I had no rear brake and overshot that jump into the field," Donaho said. "I think a rock got in between my case and my brake lever for a couple of laps before it fell out and I could get going agZiin. Of Atkinson went by him and set his sights on Keeney. but time ran out and Keeney took the moto win. Donaho recovered for third. After a bad start, Mike Luoma, on his CR 125, put on a charge to finish fourth. In the second moto, Donaho again launched his CRF450R to the holeshot. This time. though, Atkinson quickly got around him and showed everyone thaI he is back and is serious about winning, as he toured the track uncontested to take the overall win. Donaho finished a couple of seconds off the pace for second overall. Luoma got another not-sa-good start but rode his shorts off. passing anyone or anything he could with a very impressive ride to third overall. Mike Johnson put together a strong, consistent ride, going 7 -5 for fourth overall. Robert Kohl was fifth with a pair of sixes. Keeney was a no-show in the second moto. With some big changes planned for the track and the Dealer Series in full swing, the crew at Motokazie will have their hands full at Elko Speedway, so keep your computer tuned to motokazie.com for future updates.
