Formula USA National Dirt Track Series Round 5: Oklahoma State Fair Speedway had lapped Bailey, Scherb and Vernon. Vernon had Poovey in his sights, but before the Dunlop jump, Vernon stalled his KTM. He got the bike running before he lost a position, but West passed Pegram in the 180degree turn before the finish line to move up to 15th. The checkers waved, and King took his first win of the season. Schnabel followed up his Rochester win with a second, and Bigelow was third. Landes made his first appearance at a Formula USA race to get fourth. Stanley was well onto a fourth place finish, but he went off the track and allowed to Landes to get by. Stanley rounded out the top five. (Below) Road racer Matt Walt was the fastest qualifier but crashed himself out of contention In the main event. Walt rebounded to finish seventh. One of the top battles of the night was between Eslick and Wait. Wait passed Eslick after the Dunlop jump. Eslick took the inside and passed the Honda-mounted rider back, taking the advantage and sixth spot. Wait salvaged seventh after an up-and-down night. Kopp nursed his banged-up KTM to eighth.
