At the conclusion, it was Palfreyman and Melillo taking the overall win in the Sportsman Sidecar class, with the McDade brothers in second and Myers and Ketcham rounding out the class in third, and bringing to a close a very exciting day of sidecar motocross. IL, JUNE 2 U.S. 51 in Wapella, Illinois, has teamed up with Uncoln Trail Motosports in Casey, Illinois, to create the spectacular IIlini Super Series, with over $198,000 in factory contingency available from Kawasaki, Honda. Suzuki and Husqvama. The top overall winners from each class will be awarded a team jacket and a personalized plaque. With all this on the line, the racing gets fast and furious. As round three got under way, the battle began early in moto one in the 125cc A class. Robert Motsinger has a good hold on the firstplace position in the standings, but on this day he had to do battle with Honda rider Kevin Lampe. Lampe got the holeshot and began to distance himself from the other riders. Not far off the pace were Motsinger and Dustin Crow. All the riders in this class put up quite a battle. At the end of moto one, Lampe held off the pack to take first. Motsinger took third after a late pass by Crow. In moto two, Lampe again got the holeshot. and this time he had to fight to hold on to first. Motsinger dug in deep and pushed the leader. Unable to complete the pass, Motsinger pulled into second place. Crow tried to pull up on the front riders but he also couldn't complete on the pass, and he took third. The 250cc A class also tested the riders' talents. Travis Merrill pushed his Honda to the limits in moto one. Lampe was in hot pursuit, but Merrill was able to hold him at bay. Motsinger and Doug Huston waged a battle of their own for third. Motsinger pulled away from Huston after the new roller-coaster section and held on to third. Moto two gave Lampe a chance to redeem himself. David Espinoza pulled the holeshot but was unable to hold on as the battle heated up. Lampe and Merrill made their way up front and battled again; this time, Lampe made the pass and held on to first place to the checkers. Motsinger and Huston made the same pass as in moto one, with Motsinger taking third place overall. Lampe ended his day with first overall, followed by Merrill. There may have only been a few riders in the Women's class. but they wee out there giving it their all. Yamaha rider Nikki Duranczyk proved that she has what it takes to stay up front.
