Schwartz was in two, with Ermolenko and Manchester in three and four. The "Master of the Gate," Schwartz, was on and he was not to be caught and the final spot was his. They drew on the starting line for position in the main. The pole went to Schwartz, with Faria in two and Larsen in three. On the outside were Brant and Castro.
